I really can't make a top 10 list steel coasters, each one is too unique. Either way, my top 10 would be all wood.
And all the signs in the park still say Avalanche.......
As for Tiger Terror, It's not something I would put in my top list, it's just..... awesome. It's like a scaled down version of some of my top coasters. It even feels different every time I ride it.... each time reminding me of one of my top coasters.
Hahaha well with all due respect, AE is really fun and tall, but compared to some B&Ms and other woodies, it's not much to give. I even remember riding Blue Streak over and over and over and it being way better.
Yeah. Second to last row is just insane. It's god such a cool layout and lots of head choppers as well as ejector. People think it is way too rough but it's getting more and more popular because of all the retracking and how smooth it is nowadays. I never really found it to be rough in he first place.
Heres my top 10 so far. Only including active coasters (so no HXLC or Big Bad Wolf).
1. Intimidator 305 (before and after trim, its still excellent)
2. Volcano (argruably, barely ahead of #3)
3. Griffon
4. Apollo's Chariot
5. Grizzly
6. Flight of Fear
7. Alpengeist
8. Lochness Monster
9. Dominator
10. Rebel Yell
Most likely, I'll be going to Carowinds this year so I hope to add promising looking coasters like Nighthawk, Intimidator Carowinds, and Afterburn to the list.
I would like to add if you haven't seen my post about it a while ago, that while I305 is still agruably barely better than Volcano and Griffon with trims right now, that notion was extreme before when it didn't have those extra trims. It was FAR AND AWAY the best coaster I've ever been on without them. It was the only coaster I ever been on that sustains the IT factor and tremendous thrill and excitement the entire ride through without really ever losing any momentum. Too bad anybody who didn't ride it before the extra trims will (most likely) never experience it in its full 94mph form. But, the reason is completely understandable, wheels burning off? Sounds dangerous.
