Ok, what is that font in the preview pic? I wanna get my hands on that; it looks COOL.

The ride looks sweet as well. It would be cool if you got some underground tunnels for those dips, sort of like the voyage.

Response to Halo364: I'm not sure what website I got the fonts from but I can give you the names!

Where it says 'Betrayal' the font is titled, 'BatmanForeverAlternate'
Where it says 'The Path Not Taken' the font is titled, 'Staccato222 BT'

Small update as well, more head-choppers in progress!

Perfect head-chopper action, rides beautifully, very close to not passing the tunnel test!

so, are all of your braces just boxes of the sides? Do you not think you should taper off the tops to make them more triangular and bracing... it will also add some aesthetics.

Sort of, some are different but for the most part yes. It's sort of a different style I have been working on. Along with this being a coaster set out to help me improve, I was also experimenting with hill styles. The first big ones remind me of Togo a little because they are more 'straight', and others are shaped for different types of airtime. Betrayal variates different throughout the huge layout. I think that may be what has kept me interested as long as it has to continue supports.

Either way, it's a good suggestion but I was going for a wide/thick support style because it is just different - and I think it matches the coaster. When riding it allows for a ton more head-choppers and just looks awesome!

Wow, over four months of work. I can honestly say I'm looking forward to this ride. I expect it's top notch with all this time being put into it!

It is definitely my biggest project so far. Trackwork is very good - not exactly top notch - but I would consider the supports to be.

-- update --

I have just finished up some more head-choppers and a small covered segment of track. The covered piece has some nice floater airtime and gives off a really cool 'hand-scraper' effect!

You should never put supports before trackwork! When a ride has good trackwork, and bad supports, it's considered decent, but if the ride has bad trackwork and good supports, it's still considered bad, IMHO...

Anyway, this looks great! Am really looking forvard to it![:)]

I think I know what your getting at and I find it an interesting way to look at it. However, the way I see it is if I have good trackwork, but better supports it would add towards the greatness rather than degrade it. Either way opinions are respected and thank you for the comment. It is definitely something to look 'forvard' to! [lol]

[edit/update]

Their isn't really anything interesting to take a screenshot of right now. It's all just more supports and head-choppers which I don't think you guys really want to see more of right now.. I decided to give you a text update for once, I took the time to figure out the maximum forces.

Vertical Positive: 4.4 at 100%, 4.6 at 25%
Vertical Negative: 1 at 100%, 1.3 at 25%
Lateral Pos/Neg: 1.2 at 50%
-- explanations and opinions --
*The maximum vertical g's are a little over the top for a woodie but keep in mind that it is the maximum. Only one section gets that high while the average high is more towards 4 g's. That particular section that hits 4.6 g's in the back is split-second (which is why I only caught it at 25% time) and is a turning/banked piece which I will make sure bracing is created very strong.
*The maximum negative forces are what I wanted/expected, there are several areas that hit around -1 g and the max being -1.3 which as most know to be realistic ejector air time. As of course, their are just as much floater hills in combination.
*The maximum lateral force seems just right to me, between 1.1/1.3 it is not over the top but is not under either. Betrayal is intended to be more of a new age woodie so 1.2 sounds average for a maximum in my opinion.

One more thing, I already have hand picked a pre-tester to whom I wish to remain anonymous until the completion date of Betrayal. I have decided that after pre-testing (in a few more months), and nearer to the completion of the track, three regular testers will be chosen for a wider overview of things I may have missed. Again, those three will be hand-picked by me, secretly, so don't bother requesting.

[edit]

I only have one more big hill to support but I am putting that one off for now..

The first/second pictures shows a hill I have nearly finished up, some tweaks may occur in the future. The third/fourth pictures show some of the bracing for the first big turn-around (not finished/still in progress). Any suggestions are welcome, it is hard to make bracing for the parts that get really close to the ground.

The last two day I've been on a surprise trip to Knott's for Spring Break. Right now I'm at SFMM though, in some cafe thing. Well, expect an update in a few days. Alright, I'm going to ride Tatsu!

4.6 G's, ouch dude...Still too much, I dunno if it's too far along to fix, but that's still too strong for a woodie.

Alright, as for the colors - I've never really gotten around to changing them much. I've started to get used to them but what do you guys think? I tried to mix it around but I just changed it back. It just doesn't look right more brown or red. It's just like a weird mix.

As for the G's, those positives are intense but I want to break the rules. It pulls them smooth and correct - yet very forceful and cool. that section is pretty far along, passed fixing point if that split second high (at 25%) is too much for you.

I've attempted to make something decent with 3ds, I think it turned out alright (I'm obviously a beginner). Anyways, here are some pictures of progress from the last 10 days.

Okay, I've just finished moving and this is the first time I've had Internet in weeks! I've made a lot of progress and I am thinking that pre-testing will start soon. The only thing really left is bracing for the final helix's which I have already started and maybe some more 3ds. Oh, I got rid of the fog, it may come back later. Since the removal I've noticed a pretty good increase in FPS. I'll keep you guys informed, here's some pics of whats been going on:

I've decided that the pre-lift has been getting boring since I've ridden it at least 200 times. I have made an easy change that I think adds a little more spice to it; banking has been removed as well as transitions re-shaped and re-supported. Well, some pics on the helix's progress and the newly re-done pre-lift.

Supports are finished and pre-testing has begun!

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u240 ... 5-1-08.png

[edit]

I know it's been about a month since my last update so I decided to give you guys something.. Pre-testing is just about finished, several small/large modifications have taken place. Some of the changes are minor like finally changing the wood color, adding more color to the train, removing wheel hits, etc.. As for big changes, two helix's were decided to be removed to speed up the pace! After the removal of one though, the pace was just right IMO so I decided to keep the other. Most of the areas that have been worked on are pictured below.

Oh...What made you decide to use Millennium Flyers? I now feel like the track doesn't look right with them. PTC 4-Seaters suit this layout much better, I feel.
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

There has been no progress at all over the last few months.. Casper said he could do 3ds for this one but he has forgotten several times and I honestly don't think it is worth waiting for anymore. Scenery or not, a coaster is a coaster. Over the few months, I have become pretty good at 3ds but I am not good enough to make any under-ground tunnels yet. If you guys can live with Betrayal swooping in and out of dips in the terrain and not actually going through under-ground tunnels than I think I could upload some time around this Monday. What do you guys think?

those supports look weird to me.

http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u240 ... 5-1-08.png

on the lift hill, they should be about 10ft long in order to look symmetrical to the rest of the track.'

IMO, they look displeasing, but that could just be me being a little OCD...
