I donno why you guys are complaining about the theming. That coaster looks great, the proximity of all the theming just adds alot more to the ride experiance.

While I think the theming is good in terms of proximity to the ride and everything that that entails, I really do think quite a lot of it looks a little shitty

[sillyme]^^^ What type of urban tribal African Village has a 12 story building, bridges and a whole load of other 'modern' like houses+huts etc.
A jungle would look beautiful around the ride. And the only buildings that would suite would be a few grass+log huts or something. Having near misses with those, not huge buildings. And alot of trees to add more sense of speed.

Phantasialand is putting a ton of time and effort into Black Mamba to create a unique ride experience with GREAT theming. Be lucky we?????????re getting any themeing at all, look at almost all mdern coasters that are being construsted with absolutey NO themeing. do you always have to bitch about somehting? Give me a break, I think the majority of the users on this site will agree that Black Mamba is going to be one of the best new rides of 2006. Phantasialand hasn?????????t let us down yet, they know what they?????????re doing, so give it up.

Amen to that. IMO, I think it looks great. I can't even imagine how intense it will be.

Maybe because they dont 'need' themeing[sillyme].
If the Voyage had themeing, it would look awesomly stupid.
Themeing plays a massive part in a compact like Black Mamba, tough crap that the themeing could be 1000 times better than it is.
How can you theme what you call a 'modern' coaster anyway. If you havn't noticed rides are getting huge these days, and they are too hard to theme over a big scale. You try and go out and theme the 'whole' of Millenium Force or Goliath(SFOG). It just wouldn't happen. Because simply it cant be done.

EDIT: It might look better when finished, but it still will be very cluttered.

Two much fake rock, but that's what Phantasialand is about

I've been there last weekend, and all I can say is: Fake rock? Hardly remarkable from ground level.. Especially the Immelman's rock looks amazingly good. That fake rock on this pictures is because you're looking at them from a large distance. If you look at them from 10 metres, all you can see is a perfectly themed ride. The last time I've been on Nemesis was about 6 years ago, and really, this overrules it. The only thing that's missing is a B&M roar, this is just to silent. [:D] (and yes, they're testing)

Anybody buying tix for a ride on the 23th of May, or even the very first ride?

Well the common B&M roar comes from the use of nylon wheels. A lot of the new B&M's try both wheels to see which are better for the ride. Nylon wheels are louder and give the train a little more speed, while polyurethane wheels are quiter and cut the speed down a little bit.

Now that I think about it, that could explain why it doesn't have wheel covers right now. They could be trying out the different wheels.

I am almost positive that I am. The poly wheels are also the reason B&M hypers are so quiet. Please, please, please correct me if I'm wrong though.

I doubt the wheels produce that much more sound. Yes, its probably there but I bet its more of a performance issue than sound.

The B+M roar comes from hollow track. Not wheels, they fill the rails for discreetness
Kumba's track is hollow and that is ear-splitting.
