Well, I never blacked out, but the color drained from my vision on Laser for about half the ride. That alone gives it the right to sit in my #4 steel spot.

^ doesn't that count as black out? I've never had it where my vision completely goes, but things start to get dark and fuzzy and its hard to make out objects.

ive never blacked out or rvrn greyed out but i do however get a euforis sometimes when i stand up from lying down or sleeping. its like all the colours of the world blind me. ive been to the docteres to have it checked but been told its normal from blood rushing from one side of the brain to the other. does anyone else have this

OMG I have the same thing. Once it lasted for about 10 seconds. I stood up from the couch after layoing down for awhile and all of sudden I was seeing all black. I couldn't even keep myself balanced and so right away I sat down to recouper.

That happens to basically everyone, especially people with low blood pressure. I have extremely blood pressure, so I actually have to get up slowly if I've been sitting for a long time because otherwise I pretty much just fall down or feel really sick and dizzy for a little while.

I usualy black out after 10 to 15 minutes, when going to bed.

I think it's due to these ever so long sustained lateral forces.

^^That too happens to me, but it feels like I'm gonna faint. I do also feel sick as well.

Back to the topic-so far, I haven't really blacked out on a ride, except when the S&S tower at SFNE launched me up. I don't remember that moment at all.

I blacked out leaving the loop on Raptor which pulls about 4 g's. The Strange thing is, I've been on Steel Phantom which pulls about 5 g's and I was just fine.

My Theory is that on a coaster like the phantom your knees are higher then your pelvis keeping blood from pooling in the legs as easly. On an inverted or standup coaster the blood has a more direct path to the feet. To investigate this theory i rode Great Bear twice once with my legs hanging down and once extended foward. In the latter case the effects of G-force were concederably less and i found it easer to concentrate.

I only black out slightly on one coaster, the Mindbender, most intense coaster I have been on, I only black out on one part, which is at right at the point of the loop where the g's max out, it only happens on the first two loops, and because they are right after eachother, you get slightly blacked out on the first, were you can only see directly what you are looking at, and on the second loop, it adds on to it, and for about 2 seconds all you see is black, and it fades away after a few seconds. I only black out on this ride now that they have new trains for it, the old trains you would not black out, but with the new trains sure do make it go faster, and a lot more intense, ties with Millennium Force in my mind. If you are ever in Alberta, GO TO THE MINDBENDER, most intense coaster you are likely to have been on.

I've never blacked out as such, but i've had black spots invade my vision on Revolution at Blackpool. I'd be interested to know if anyone else has experianced somthing similar on other Arrow shuttleloops, because i know loads of people have had similar vision problems on Rev'.

What confuses me is what exacly causes these "black outs" to start with? I'm pretty sure that what most people exeriance on coasters isn't a true black out... I know with rev it's caused by negative g's, because it accumpanies the airtime as it dives down.

I've also experianced the same thing but with white spots. It happens on Nemesis Inferno's loop nearly every time i ride it. It's certainly worse when it's a hot day, i haven't eaten or i'm a little tired. I've ridden it enough to know these things for sure. It also never happens when it's raining, when Inferno is running at it's fastest and most intense. The white spots start to effect me midloop and i feel a little light headed. The vision nearly dissapears to complete white just as the train exists the loop... And then returns back to normal over the zero g. After it happens, i nearly always feel a little sick on the brake run. A lot of people complain about the same thing or just that Inferno is a very sickly coaster.

I'm really not sure what causes it. I don't think it's g's alone... i've been on more intense coasters. I think it's more to do with sudden changes in speed and direction... and when your a little tired or dehydrated, your brain reacts slower leaving you dizy and your vision a bit wtf.
