I think it is sped up ever so slightly, with the wear of the footage, judging by the kids sitting in the car towards the end of the video anyway, it looks that way, but certainly not by much! Those laterals would still be just crazy!
It's easy to tell they had no sense of banking back then. That's awesome. If it really goes that speed, I looks more fun than 9 out of 10 wooden coasters I've seen nowadays.
X2 ??? Intimidator 305 ??? Millennium Force ??? Iron Rattler ??? El Toro ??? Fury 325 ??? Maverick ??? Skyrush ??? Twisted Timbers ??? Voyage 250
I didn't ride Raging Wolf Bobs when I was there because the line was a little longer than I wanted to wait, but from pictures it seems that ride was doomed to be boring, laterals or not.
I dont think the video is sped up any. These rides were notorious for insane speeds and crazy elements that hurt people. Infact, the fact that the camera is not using a wide angle lens (which usually helps things look faster) adds to how crazy this ride was. Doing things by hand on paper just brings in so many variables that you cant compute as clearly. I imagine these rides to ride just like that POV showed. Rides that truely made you wonder "Is this thing going to stay on the tracks?"
