thats not a boyz toy, a boyz toy is an unneccery piece of pleasure that has no other use other than to entertain yourself and occasionally others, try again.

Edit: not yours Jakizle, that is totally a boyz toy.

1972 arp odyssey, 1985 roland juno 106, pro tools digi 001,1967 farfisa compact combo etcetra etcetra.i make music in my freetime. i collect antique toy cars, from the 50's 60's and early 70's.. hotwheels(vintage redlines only and other rare hotwheels spin offs like sizzlers and gran toros)
as far as the weekends go in my leisure time i want to be as far away from motorized things as i can, because i work in a small engine shop. i don't like quads, buggies 4x4s jetskis etc, when i go out to visit nature those things have a tendency to spoil it for me. BUT that rc car is bitchen looking for what it is..those run on alchohol , dont they? i have an old testors funny car from the early 70s with a cox style engine, i reckon it's the same technology, but on a more primitive scale.
no, not all men have loud obnoxious "toys" like dirt bikes and dune buggies, but many of the people i'm forced to deal with at work do,it's just not my thing i like art and music, so i guess my instruments and studio equipment are my toys... actually i do own a rifle and some antique air guns, but , like my dad taught me when i was very little THESE ARE NOT TOYS.

Airsoft guns. I have 3.

Steyr Aug Civilian and KMG P228

USR-11 Sniper (not sure what its a remake of)

Colt M4A1

Quite fun to play with. The Aug shoots around 350fps and so does the M4A1 while the USR shoots almost 500fps. I can hit a targer with a heavy grade plastic BB from around 150-200ft the size of a sheet of paper. It needs some upgrades (as do all of them) to really get the full effect but Ive got other things I need to pay for. In time, the AUG is getting a major upgrade and will be a beast and so will the Colt.

lol, The name of this thread is so fruitacious....Honestly AT LEAST loose the Z's...

I would have to say mine is my guitar, if that counts. Or my RC plane, not just a toy RC plane, but a thousand dollar, gas, 6 foot wingspan, need a license to fly it, RC plane. [pshades]

ah, yes, the classic 150-225 6 cylynder mercury ... mid 90's vintage from the looks of it,(unless thats a brown stripe on the cowling) but um.. the boat looks like it might be a baylner... hope not, but still it looks good, and as someone who attended mercury outboard school i can assure you that you made a fine purchase regading the engine.if you need any tips regarding maintenance and repairs i'm more than willing to help. may i ask if its a efi or carbureted engine? also the oil injection system on those is not troublesome as omc's vro(which in my opinion means "very rarely oils") but with an older outboard like that you can always bypass it asnd premix.. which is a lot less of a pain in the ass than replacing pistons or a whole powerhead.. ...ironicaly i'll probabaly never own a boat... why should i? when other people's boats break down or need service i get to run the crap out of theirs!!!!this time of year i'm likely to get alot of free fish , if i get off my lazy ass and return phone calls and emails for side work...you'd be suprised how many boat owners you get to know when people pass the word that i'll do a full service for 150 dollars.. including water pump.

Whoa, Jay knows his stuff! It is a 1991 Arriva, Merc 150 6 cyl with an average top speed about 58 MPH fully trimmed and seats 8 very nicely. I actually just put $1300 into it getting the engine practically refurbished (the issues it had were all from poor maintenance of the previous owner). I also had a depth finder put in as well cause I was tired of fishing and not catching crap. Since installing that, my catches have about tripled. Here are a couple more shots.

We are gonna run it tomorrow for a bit so I may remember to take some more shots of it ... I need to get out on the water, it is really the only place I am totally happy.

hahaha.. with a fish finder you still might not catch crap, but at least you'll see it go by. ... personally i like sailng more than powerboating, but even a wierdo like myself gets wood at 58 mph on the water..nothing like it.. i got to break in a fresh mercruiser on a new sea ray and my bowels started getting loose at 60.. ..the only reason i even work on engines is because if i didn't i'd starve to death.. it's not like wes craven is constantly calling me to work on the soundtrack for his movies.

[lol] to the bowels getting loose ... I have had that as well ... like when I am doing 58 mph and hit a sand bar that was NOT there the last time I rolled through that particular area ...

yikes.. i worked on a really over powered novrania inflateable once, it was like a 16 footer, and it had a 125 on it.. only a year or so old and it hadn't seen much use.it belonged to some rich guy who had a giant sailing yscht ot here in san diego, and it was his tender.. anyways i had that motor dialed in like better than new.. it was running prefect.. then i took it out into the bay to try it out i couldn't get that light ass peice of crap on plane no matter what!!!! i went over everything, i checked the guages to make sure the engine was running like they said it was.. i went nuts..
the next day, after spending the first with the mechanic who hired me going over everything.. it WAS perfect.. he's like"you're the outboard guy.. YOU figure it out.. a couple of hours later, as i started to get REALLY pissed i suddenly thought to reach under the boat and feel the hull........ it had never been cleaned.i called a hull cleaner and when he showed up he came back up and said it'd be DOUBLE the usual fee..
this time i DID get up on plane within seconds i had all but about the last 5 inches of that hull out of the water... i hadn't been expecting it and to topp it off our bay isn't exactly the calmest that time of day!!!! bouncing around in that inflateable at about 50 was crazy.. i was well paid for that job...
