Hey guys...
Here's the run down...
Got up at 5...left at 6...got to BG around 11 and went straight to Apollo's Chariot. Very small crowds because of the hurricane threat but other then 15 minutes of rain around 6 PM is was beautiful all day long. Rode Apollo in the front row and it was awesome. Got off and headed for BBW which was only about a 20 minute wait and it was fun. Then we (Dad and I) headed for Alpengiest and pretty much got in in about 5 minutes. I must say Alpengiest certainly gives Raptor and Montu a run for their money on my list. I enjoyed it very much. My dad skipped Griffon after we ate but we have been on Shiekra so I didn't think he missed too much except an extra loop. The single rider line got me right on Griffon and it was pretty fun. Then we headed across the bridge as I filmed more footage for the video I always do when I go to parks. Then we rode Nessie in the very back and I was pleasantly surprised at the smoothness of Loch Ness. Tons of air and lots of speed in the back. Headed back to Apollo to fil a bit more and I rode while my dad filmed me on it. This time the back seat was my choice and the air was heavenly again. One last ride on BBW in the front row as my dad filmed me coming outta the station. We also rode Pompeii and took a spin on the Darkastle dark ride which was neat in 3-D. We headed out and drove north to King's Dominion. Got there around 845 and walked in with our platinum passes. My dad didn't go on Dominator 2 years ago at Geauga so I told him he had to ride and I loved it again as usual. The speed seemed to be higher at KD so I think they made a cool aquisition. It's good to see 5 coasters saved from Geauga (Dominator, Carolina Cobra, Possessed (at my home park), Firehawk, and Thunderhawk). At about 9 we were off and headed to Volcano for a night ride. We rode it 2 or 3 times 2 summers ago and decided to hit it once. Absolutely awesome ride just as it always was.
Headed out around 945...got some Burger King, gas, and drove. Rather then getting a hotel and risking traffic and wasting hotel money just to head home in the AM, we drove til about 12...stopped at a rest plaza to nap for an hour...and that was enough to get us back home by 3:30 AM this morning.
A little under 22 hours away from home...about 11 of it driving...but deff. worth our first trip to BG and a ride on a few KD coasters.
Tons of fun!!! R.I.P. Big Bad Wolf <3
