Is it hand made and then AHG'd or Elementary made and hand banked and AHG'd?

wing-overs right. Elementary, then AHG

I did not touch a single node, if you look in the topic starter post, I have a bad history with handmaking tracks [;)]

how do you make all those things with elementry? anyway, the ride. there were a lot of bad transitions. like where you come out of a corkscrew, go straight for 1 second, and go into another. but it is too late now. but seriously, how do u make all that in elem. mine are all hand made, and they aren't too good.

Ok here goes...

Pros

- Supports are looking good so far, very similar to Intamin.
- I like the hill leading into the cobra roll idea for starting your coaster.
- After the 2nd hill the Helix element you have is unique and very creative.
- The transfer brake is good and simulates magnetic brakes well but i would change add a small block brake at the end of it to allow the next train to launch quicker.
- The ride is well paced apart from the last corkscrew. I know that you wanted hangtime in that last corkscrew, its just not very Intamin.

Cons

- The launch needs to slope slightly.
- The pull-up on your first airtime hill is too sharp.
- Watch the G forces on your coaster. Most people view +4.9G as too high and people definitely view -1.7G as too low. -1.5G is the max for airtime.
- Have you tunnel tested because it looks as though some parts are particularly close.
- Touch up the turn between the brake runs.
- Perhaps there are 1 too many corkscrews, a loop possibly instead?
- Adjust the station waiting times.
- Work on your transitions with Elementary.

Hope this is useful for you.

Recieved. So I do need some more work...But this whole ride project was supposed to be a learning experience and its accomplishing what I put it out for. I dont wanna go back and do supports/trackwork again, however. So once I'm done with this project I'll probably make another one and use what I've learned here there.

Probably something B&M, or a woodie; cant decide...

Anyways, Support work continues on, and Ive gotten as far as the 1st corkscrew, and I think I will probably have the supports done by middle of next week.

Supports are looking great, they're worth the time you're putting into them. Keep it up.

Ok I'll just post what I have to say here:

-Watch your adreneline. I think you should change the 3rd cork to something different, loopscrew maybe?
-How are you making your corkscrews? Did you use the HSAK? I noticed some pretty jerks in the corks, particularily the first one.
-Make sure to tunnel test. That turnaround would surely decapitate someone.
-Are you using the correct speeds? I noticed excessive lats in places where there shouldnt be, such as the first overbank.
-a small pump in the Cobra.

Overall, a pretty good ride, and quite unique for your first elementary project. Keep at, it usually takes a while

UPDATE:
Ok, so I've cintunued work on my supports. And its starting to look pretty good. However, in my support work I did a very, very, VERY, bad thing. In my supporting w/ moving nodes around and whatnot I accidentally -and without my knowledge- totally screwed up one of thr 350 track vertices in my ride. then -once again without my knowledge- loaded the sim to see if the supports were inline and where they shouldave been.

The result is a terribly jerky, pumpy, painful ride experience. Which i tried for 5 hours to correct. Thus, I am left with 3 options:

1. Scrap the ride, put it in the scrapyard, and start another project.

2. See if there isnt a kind soul with far better handbuilding skills than mine who can put the node back in its happy home.

3. Redo the entire layout, taking into mind what everyone has said about the first layout, and making changes accordingly

I'll be taking votes on what I should do so as always suggestions are obviously appreciated.

Well, you should always have a backup track incase this sort of thing happens, and have the whole AHG'd track saved as an element. That's what I always do, and it's really payed off in some of the contest rounds when there wasn't time to redo things. Now hopefully you'll learn from this and not make the same mistake twice.

Anyway, as for what to do now, I think that if you really like this layout and want to make something of it, that you should redo the entire thing. Or, if you have some other ideas that you really want to do, then it would probably be best to put it in the scrapyard and start on something new.

well I do have it saved as an element, thats how I get the AHG-ed track into the main ride in the first place. Guess I never really thought of that.

But those supports...the HOURS...[xx(]

It's just the supports that connect directly to the track that need redoing, isn't it? Since you can import the element into the track with the supports on it.

Good thing you have it as an element. But, redoing some of the ride would not necessarily be a 'bad' think. I think that 1st corkscrew and the turnaround need to be redone, for purposes stated above.

Yeah there are a few bad parts, stated above. I say you import the element, finish supps quickly, and post it as one of your okeyish rides, and make a better one next.

yea that what I plan to do, now that I know what I need to improve upon. I may even just scrap the supports and use prefabs so I can get it over quickly, though I'm not sure if I really wanna do that...

You can use prefabs in some areas, because they will look natural and flow with the other supports. Just not the whole ride.

UPDATE:

The ride is now on hold, whether or not I finish it or abandon it is luck of the draw.

Until then, I'm beginning work on a new ride, utilizing what I have learned here and putting it to good use in a B&M invert. called requiem
