I'm working on my first inverted and I'm finding a new problem I've never had, no matter where on the track I click, I can't add track nodes. I can click the track in different places a thousand times with no result. Anyone else get this?

Make sure they're visible under the "display" tab in the top menu.

you know what, found a trick....zooming out and trying again seems to work oddly enough.I guess it's some weird glitch.

To zoom is by the use of the mouse wheel or the +/- keys, the vertical scroll bar has nothing to do with zooming.

he means that there is a glitch that makes clicking difficult, this happens only if you change from 3d view to flat views directly. the lattice points become uncalibrated and zooming is required to unstick and recalibrate the lattice points. It's a common glitch in array-based programming especially since in NLE 3D and flat views utilize different methods of alignment.

What I meant is that the scroll bar goes away and then by zooming out and back in, does it come back.
