^ Wow 6 G's, I think that's a little extreme cause then more people would have actually blacked out, 5.2-5.5 sounds probably more accurate.
^ And I agree with everything else in that post.

The coaster would never pull anywhere near 6 g! Most likely 4.5 g. Its not so much the force, but the time you experience it. Boomerangs pull 5.3 g's, but for a brief moment, not a whole turn. Some people black out at 3.5 g, that's why they don't become astronauts of pilots! lol

UPDATE- The pouring of footers at Carowinds has begun! Image Image Image With that last picture of the footer, I think we can officially say it's a B&M as they use square footers mostly :)

I am not impressed with the layout. I was really hoping for more airtime but all I see is twisty which could be nice, but I wish there was more airtime.

^True. Even Intimidator has more-but airtime is more of a b&m hyper coaster thing. B&M giga coasters have lots of overbanks from what we've seen so far.

Its not ALL about airtime, if it was, coasters would just be hill after hill. I love that they put twists and turns, their being more original, plus we don't Truly know the layout, just an overhead view. Maybe they put more hills than you know, or less. I305 is very low ground type of coaster for a 300+ foot coaster. If you initially saw an overhead view, than maybe you would think they would put more hills and over banked turns.

What makes LEVI's first drop the best in the world? No doubt its awesome, just asking for your opinion.
I would prefer to see a giga Intamin, I305 has that cool double spine and lift support. Giga supports aren't so creative.

^This is basically why I consider Leviathan's drop superior to Millennium's (aside and apart from the much more open trains). The crest is much tighter, and it's less visible in the above image but the pullout seems to happen slightly lower to the ground. Many hold the opposite opinion, but I actually prefer the slower lift on Levi to MF's, it gives you time to absorb how high you are! Also Leviathan's drop delivers floater until the pullout whereas on MF you just get the pop at the top (lol). Don't get me wrong, I actually found Millennium to be running superbly on my recent visit and its setting/pacing are without peer, I just think Leviathan's drop is much more impactful.

You are comparing two coasters over 10 years apart in age. Try comparing I305 and Leviathan's first drops instead.
Oh, were you expecting something here?

^For the simple fact I haven't been on I305 yet! But it's a similar comparison, a tight crest taken slowly vs a circular crest taken quickly.

Doesn't matter how old a coaster is! We can still compare them. Thank you for defending your opinion instead of just stating it. Until I ride Levi, I cannot say which is better.

Here is a better comparison:

I personally like the look of MF's drop best, even thought I haven't rode any of the three . It seems like it has tons of floater from the POV's but then again pov's are nothing like the real thing.

EDIT: Scratch that- in an unbelievable coincidence I found out Im going to Canada's Wonderland later this summer, and MIGHT go to King's Dominion this Tuesday! :D :D :D

Also, there really isn't much to report left, just waiting for the announcement now

I agree, the MF drop is the best looking, then I305 following, then Levi, I haven't ridden Levi but I have ridden I305 and I like the MF drop better because of just how long it takes to reach the max angle, I305 gets to the max decent too quick and I personally think it's too steep for getting there so quickly :P

^I agree. Iv'e heard the transition is so quick on I-305 that if you sit in the back you get plastered to the restraint  But that's beside the point. i read somewhere that Cedar Fair's long term plan is to put a giga in as many parks as they can, and since I-305 was so troublesome the next few will be B&m's. In my opinion, I-305 should have gone somewhere else because the people of Virginia had never experienced anything remotely close to what it had to offer and it was just too extreme for them.

He's basing it off of fact. I305 is intense and there literally is nothing like it open to the public in that area.

I got back from riding I-305 and I honestly think that speedy cable lift makes the drop so much better. The speed at which you crest the hill is ridiculous, and you have to factor that in too. Because B&M still uses the traditonal chain lift, speed on the lift hill is not a factor for the drop. I think I-305's first drop was probably the best I've ever ridden, but I haven't been on Millennium Force yet ;)

If you sit in the back of a modern B&M (Shambhala is my experience) it's literally solid floater all the over the crest of the lift until you pull up!

^I agree. Old ones like nitro dont have much floater but I think starting with behemoth there was much more noticable floater. But on MF the pull up is really late so it's packed with it. I-305 actually had a bit of ejector.

As I've said before, I305 is great but the drop is over too quick, MF is perfect because of how long it takes to hit max angle and then it steeply pulls you out of it.
Best 1st drop ever.

I don't know if you've ridden Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia CH, but it has some amazing floater. My favorite coaster

I found I305's drop to be really underwhelming compared to MF, mainly because the more open trains and restraints on MF made the height and airtime more pronounced while the really snug shoulder harnesses on I305 just made 300 feet feel no different than 50 and really made the drop feel weak. Honestly though B&M is the king of straight drops, that perfect sustained floater with their clamshell's is simply amazing, especially those with a predrop.

I waited two hours and was next in line and then a thunderstorm came in and ruined everything
