For $70 million, or exactly 2.5 Leviathans. I am unfamiliar with the company purchasing...http://www.jmaventuresllc.com/ , they're a real estate development firm that owns several resorts and bars. Perhaps a good move for Cedar Fair, but CGA may be on its last leg.

I think alot of people saw this one coming...especially with the removal of so many rides to other CF parks. Keeping the rides they really wanted within the chain that would be easy to move.

Real estate developers develop real estate, not theme parks.

This is the Astroworld of Cedar Fair

They probably sold it because there is no American Eagle there

Grizzly is absolutely horrible. How that heap remains standing is beyond me. The 49ers stadium was likely the death knell of this park. It's only a matter of time.

The crappy 49ers dont give a crap about the park or what happens to it. Nor was Great America stopping them from building it.

lol so I just recently rode Grizzly at KD for the 2nd-4th time, with the first being in '98, and it was pretty fun. Kinda rode like a slower, shorter, and rougher Boulder Dash with the turning hills. So I'm wondering why CGA's rates so badly, and watched an onride...they definitely turned the fun little hills into one large, drawn out curving hill on each way out and back. KD's was decent, so I can definitely see CGA's being relatively boring. I still think it rates so low because people follow that trend. I don't think Mean Streak is as bad as people say either, but it's apparently popular to rate those rides last.

^But sports are lame.

I actually enjoyed Mean Streak. I thought its roughness was significantly less than that of the former Texas Giant, which IMO is now OVERRATED. I haven't ridden Grizzly in a decade but I can't imagine it's improved. And its main problem really was its pacing, or lack thereof.

Apparently JMA Ventures has a vested interest in the stadium project moving forward and it's pretty clear that the purchase was made solely for that reason.

Even though this will never happen...

I hope in 2012 it will become Six Flags California with an X-Car and WingRider.

that would be nice if six flags took it over. But they would have the two parks in nor cal. Also I hate football.

American football is OK but in my honest opinion, I really do think our national sport should be baseball.

Nah,that thing is too small for Six Flags, also they permafuck their finances with new rides yearly,so even if they would purcase it(not plausible)they would not afford new rides.I'm afraid that CGA will just end up like Astroworld or being "ripped" into its pieces.Would be a shame with Flight Deck, but the park is love IMO.

So who's the lucky park to get Flight Deck, assuming they sell it?
