I was torn between Maverick and Steel Vengeance. Steel Vengeance got the vote though cause Maverick seems to breakdown a lot lately. It was a tough choice though.
As good as Steel Vengeance is, I have to give a very slight edge to Maverick. While I absolutely love Steel Vengeance, I personally find it to be a little too intense for too long, so by the end of the ride the airtime has become a tad uncomfortable. Meanwhile, I could ride Maverick all day and never get tired of it.
Coaster Count: 535 (114 wood, 444 steel); Park Count: 110 Top 5 Wood: El Toro, Voyage, Thunderhead, Outlaw Run, Boulder Dash Top 5 Steel: Superman the Ride, Fury 325, Millennium Force, X2, Intimidator 305
This one is really tough because CP's big 3 make up 3 of my top 5 (The other 2 are El Toro at #2 and Wicked Cyclone at #4 for those that care), but all 3 of their big coasters are world class (and TTD, Raptor and Gatekeeper are all phenomenal rides as well). Of their big 3, I'd say that my favorite is Steel Vengeance. The sheer amount of airtime on this thing is insane, there seems to be airtime even on elements that don't usually provide airtime, and it's absolutely insane, probably the most out of control ride I've ever ridden. SV has a very very slight edge over Maverick imo. The way to describe Maverick is that it's the closest thing I've ridden to an all around perfect roller coaster. It has it all, tight turns, quick transitions, strong airtime moments, an awesome launch and a long smooth layout. Maverick is practically flawless, but SV has the slight edge due to the sure insanity of the ride experience.
