Interesting. I'm surprised the delay was that long though, seems a bit excessive to me.

I can't wait to see what they say for Pipe Scream. Every other coaster has an authentic cool history fact about it. What can they say to make Pipe Scream relevant.

^true that. CF did it, then SF did it with the freaking Superloops (which, after exactly a whole year today since the announcement last year STILL isn't a coaster).

Announcement tomorrow!

I think CP picked the worst time ever for their announcement. Many people will be in school or at work, and for that reason I won't be able to catch the announcement. Plus, it's in the middle of the week, right before Apple's announcement so it's going to be completely overshadowed. Worst timing ever by CP IMO.

On a more positive tone the dive machine is going to be great. The layout's second half looks to be the best of the hyper-dive machines by a mile.

By the way will someone be recording the announcement for the site or something?

Personally I don't really care about the Apple announcement but apparently most people do. It's on the same date, 3 hours after to be exact. Every normal person is counting down the seconds to that announcement and I'm just sitting here waiting to pretend to be surprised tomorrow by Valravn

Well, even though the ride has practically been leaked, there's something about the "official unveiling" ceremonies that is still cool to watch, even after leaks. I'll just convince myself for tonight that CP is getting like... an RMC makeover of Mean Streak or something to pretend Valravn isn't happening

since we are talking apple i think that it is very bad timing because apple has a lot up its sleeve for tomorrow but we never know

The only thing iPhones are capable of is practically breaking if you don't hold it the right way and having a screen that cracks if you tap it with a little too much force.

Apparently the FAA thinks the coaster will be a hazard to the local airport, which makes no sense since they already have a few rides taller than 230 feet.

Cedar Point Announces Valravn

Cedar Point annouces their newest coaster - Valravn. Valravn is a Dive Coaster from B&M and marks their 100th built rollercoaster to date. The ride features many world records such as: tallest dive coaster, fastest dive coaster and longest dive coaster. The ride will feature 3 cars of 8 across floorless Dive Machine trains.

The ride begins with the huge 214 foot first drop followed by an immelman into the MCBR. After another vertical drop the ride navigates a dive loop and a 0g which exits into a helix. There is a final airtime hill before the ride turns into the brake run.

The scale of Valravn is so large, it shatters 10 world records in the amusement park industry:

1.Tallest Dive Coaster (223 feet)
2.Fastest Dive Coaster (75 mph)
3.Longest Dive Coaster (3,415 feet)
4.Most Inversions on a Dive Coaster (3)
5.Longest Drop on a Dive Coaster (214 feet)

Even though it's the leaked layout, I said it once and I'll at it again; That's a good layout. The first half is admittedly uninspired but the second half looks so great it makes up for it. Congrats CP, I think you have a huge winner your hands. The GP will eat it up and is going to be great. You'll see!

Layout still sucks, colors still suck. Ride name is aite, but I think dark purple track and black supports would've been better.

Still looks like it will be the best of the dives, but if the element sequence was changed I think it would've been better. Like if they had the drop into an immelman which goes into a low to the ground high speed turn leading into a diveloop and then an airtime hill into the mcbr.

Yawn. This ride is a synthesis of everything wrong with B&M.

This animation was Keith's best one yet. The material settings he used for the track make it seem so much more realistic now, I mean, the beginning of the pov going to the lift hill looked *beautiful . I think it's far better than Sheikra or Griffon, and that's saying something because those two are fantastic. But this thing... The colors are starting to grow on me. I think it interacts really well with the area. This is going to be great. Don't worry about it not being too forceful (B&M's seldom are these days), this ride will be a hit for the GP, which is their target, not us.
