I just heard on my local news that Cedar Point is being fined for $195,000 for not having properly maintained catwalks and safety equipment on Millennium Force. Apparently they have until December 1st to get this fixed.

How did this problem get by maintenance, and how did it get so bad to where CP is being fined for it?

And that is sad that they don't have proper safety equipment. It would be a shame if one of the employees had a fatal fall while working on one of the rides.

Thats true, I had to walk Maverick's lift without any safety equipment, and while I was being cross-training at Magnum, I also had to walk the lift, in windy weather mind you, without any equipment either, it was kinda scary.

Walking the lifts is something you just have to get over and then you dont think about these things. I have ran up Wildcats catwalk several times this season along with several other rides.

Even if the coasters are small, or are wooden, safety equipment should be worn whenever climbling a coaster.
If I was to walk up Troy's lift with climbing gear I would simply refuse

You always see the employees walking up the lift on Oblivion about 10 times a day. They always have the safety gear on. The safety gear hangs on the gate that stops you from walking up the lift as a guest.

I would have thought that in America the parks would have been much more up on this sort of thing, saftey and such. ... I can't justify that, I don't know why I would think that, I just do.

Walked up Boss's lift yesterday at SFStl. I had my safety vest to protect me! But yea Six Flags St. Louis has none of that crap either.

Does it have to do with safety equipment on rides that don't have catwalks with handrails?

Dorney Park doesn't have safety gear that we wear to walk up the lifts. Our coasters aren't that high, but I def would have liked to have some walking up Steel Force. I've walked to the top of Talon and I thought I was going to fall through the steps because it was soo windy.

You poor Six Flags folks, With your hard hat, "construction vest", cert badge, name tag, and your fire engine yellow shirt. They make you wear that color because its easier to identify guest bodies, from employees.

lol. thats funny. the six flags employees in nj wear ugly green shirts with a stupid slogan on the back of them.

are you serious? i def can. they will do anything to save money. its once something happens that they will make changes to their, and other cedar fair parks. and then those changes will change every week until the end of the season.
