[Nemesis Inferno Review]
By now you might be thinking "heaven" but no, its thorpe park.
I set off today around 10 o clock into which on average is a 2 hour car ride.
The weather in and around london today was scorching so we knew we were in for a busy day....
Pulling up into the car park i could see there was a vast amount of cars there. I seemed not to care as i had my trusty camera and my tussauds pass. Entering the park around 12:30 i could see that i would not be able to get on most the rides due to the mass of people.
Apon entering the park all i could think about was nemesis inferno. I could see it at the back of the park and took off towards it. The themeing is not to be missed. there was alot of attension to detail in and around the ride that got me in the coastering mood. Waiting for the queue length to flash up on the board above the entrance, i was really none the wiser as i knew i would queue howeverlong it was.
Queue length - 1 hour
Im used to qeueing long times, so this really was nothing to me. I steped into the queue which seemed to take you around the whole ride before you got the the end of the queue line. I managed to stop in the perfect place to get some shots of the loop through the zero g roll.
So i waited and i waited and.... i waited. About 10 mins from the station came the announcment knowone wanted to hear
"Nemesis Inferno is expeiceing some techniqual delays, but will be running asap" So we stood there waiting, burning in the sun, by this time i was really starting to feel the inferno. I geuss we waited about 30 mins until the trains were finaly released. By this time i was getting fairly frustrated and the queue time. We slowly edge forward, up the side of the volcano. Knowing i was minutes away, i could feel the adrenaline rising. I slowly crept my way inside the volcano and finaly got my seat on nemesis inferno.....
Sitting in my fav postition at the back i knew i was in for one hell of a ride. The gates at the front of the station lowered and we started to rill forward. The train picked up pace as it started to decend the station drop. The sensation on the drop is really like no other. The train seems to float down into the volcano. Into the darkness we went. Covered in white stream and and bright red light shinning upon the train. The train was gliding effortlessly along the track, giving a floating sensation throughtout the tunnel. Then again into the daylight and onto the lift. We slowly ebbed are way up the lift, with the whole park coming into view the higher we went. The lift hill is suprisingly fast and you seemed to crest the lift in no time at all. over the top we went, as the train started to pull downwards to the left. As the train picked up speed the g forces increased. The was a strain pulling at you from the right as you started floating down towards the loop. With incredable speed the train goes skywards, with amazing force. The train seemed to be propelled right up and over the loop and the speed never seemed to decrease. Exiting the loop the train glided along the surface of the water below but once again was pulled sky wards into the zero g roll. The train seemed to shoot right up and over in know time at all. I braced myself for what i thought would be a heading banging inversion... To my suprise the train effortlessly twisted over the top and the zero g and seemed to exit with know headbanging at all. Exiting the zero g you get a brief feeling of wieghtlessness before once again the g forces are pilled on as you take a sharp turn past the station headed for the interlocking corkscrews. The train started to once again pick up altitude and was headed for the sky. The train was the once again fliped head over heels in another mind boggling inversion. Once again no head banging whatsoever.Floating over the top of the corkscrew, i couldnt help but be reminded of the final corkscrew on nemesis. The way the corkscrew is formed is more like a barrel roll imo which increases the smoothness and also the thrill factor. As the train exited the loop it was "again" headed upwards into an abrupt diving turn to the right. The g forces were once again pileing on, and i was loving every second of it. Before i had time to grasp a breath the train was again fliped head over heels right over the track we'd just been along. The train exited right above a mini waterfall, the wind from the train brushed the water aside, making room for the train to pass over. The train then started to pull upwards again to the right. The g forces again here were amazing, the ride had not let up from start to finish. The train kept on pulling right before it decended under the brake run and again made a sharp turn but this time to the left. Before i knew it, i was on the brake run, begging for more.
IMO this was one of the best rollercoasters i have ever ridden. There really is not muchabout it i dont like.
I would have to give it a 9 1/2 out of ten.
On a day like today i was really not up for queueing 150 mins for collossus as i had ridden it several times last year and was not to wild about it.
The only other majour ride i got on was tidal, and man did i get soaked. lol
Well ive gone on long enough, hope you enjoy my review as much as i did riding nemesis inferno
