Today is my 21st birthday and without me knowing, my lovely missus (Linny, she is on the site [;)]) has organised me a week in New York with two day trips to SFGAdv. on Sunday and Monday. Which to put it mildly, I'm slightly excited about! [lol] As I have wanted to come to America and visit at least one of my top 5 parks (SFGAdv. is placed firmly in my top 5 [:D])

APPARENTLY, Oscar already knew of this!? Is this true Oscar!? You bastard! [:P]

Anyway yeah, I leave tomorrow for New York, So Lock up your hot American daughters! [lol]

Actually, if you've got any useful suggestions, it might be good. I should be able to access the internet there, the hotel seems to have internet services in the lobby, so I think I'll be able to read any suggestions before we go to the park on sunday.

Suggestions like, should I or should I not head straight for Kingda Ka for example, or does everyone rush to that in the morning, so it's best to wait for the crowds to die down before going to KK? Anything like that would be good [:D]

Well heres just a few tips.
-go to KK first, or...later at night, but there will still be a line, so i suggest going to it first.
and now, you cant rush
they make you walk from a certain point haha its stupid.

then. since your over that way, hit up el toro and what not. if your going for 2 days, hit the rides you most likely want to go on. then the 2nd, do the other rides.

And sunday will be more on the crowded side, so maby do the not so wanted rides that day, and the bigger rides the next. its all up to you though.

Congratulations, and I hope you have a nice trip [:)]

I visited SFGAdv earlier this summer. You should ride El Toro first. If anything happens that is the most important. Then it might be wise to get a few rides on Kingda Ka. It was closed a lot of the time when we was there, and we only got one ride. Amazing coaster though! You should also look forward to Nitro, which is amazing! Since you're staying two days in the park, buy a bounce back ticket for 15$ before you leave the first day!

On another note I would really recomend Queboot. It costs a bit, but it allows you to skip some lines and really makes the day a lot better. Have fun, and I guarantee you El Toro is going to be amazing[;)]

^ No You have to ride Kingda Ka first if you do not buy a Gold Q-bot. That line is huge right when the park opens. hit it first. Then go to El Toro. I suggest getting the Gold-Q-Bot. This little device saved a ton of time for us. If you had to wait in line for a ride you might not get all of them in. You should hit everything easily in 1 day with the gold q-bot. It costs a bit much but cuts your wait time down by 75%. So instead of 2 hours for Kingda Ka. You only have to wait 20 minutes. Those 20 minutes could be spend walking to the ride itself.

Dont buy a FlashPass or anyhting like that.
I just came back from SFGAdv and there was walkons on everyhting.
Only a approximate 15 minute wait for Toro and Ka.
Ride Nitro in the front and back. But when in the back, stare at the treeline as you go down the first drop, itll feel like ur falling through the sky.
The parachute tower over by Superman and GASM may look overrated, but it actually gives you a great view of the park and is pretty fun on the way down.
Hmm, thats all I can think of right now.
Ill post more as I think of other stuff.

Dude, I was at the park recently two days in a row and the minimum wait (for anything) was about an hour and a half, with the max being Kingda Ka at 4 hours!

We bought a FlashPass gold haha, if it's that busy, it REALLY makes the day a lot better and more enjoyable.

But either way, have fun dude!

Howdy!

Went to the park yesterday and the day before, on either of the days we didn't really have to queue for anything, the most was el toro on the first day, which we waited about 30mins/45mins for. Kingda Ka was like 20 mins max both days [:)]

I'll write a full trip report with pictures when I get back to England in 5 days or so.

Thanks for everyones advice!

Me and Linny are gonna see if we can go across to Coney Island some time maybe today, and we're still enjoying New York! [:D]

Looking forward to the photo trip report! :]
I went about 3 weeks ago and the most I waited for was El Toro as well (about the same as you, but TOTALLY worth it, I got quite a few rides in throughout the day, about 8 or 9, including an 2 extra rides at night because Kingda Ka decided to be moody and break down for the night, so they took us over to El Toro and gave us 2 extra rides for the night).

EDIT: Happy Late Birthday! :]

-Tony.

Whatever you do: RIDE KA FIRST!
Go to the ride first thing in the park, it breaks down A LOT and as soon as you see it riding, go ride it or you might not ride it at all.
