How were people supposed to know what the park wanted?

How...

How was Austin supposed to know that there were other 'similarly coloured rides nearby?'

Ianko's ride was good, but DCS's was better in almost every way, pacing, shaping, adrenaline, originality... Nowhere did you state that this ride had to appeal to kids or that there was even a target age....

....Did you pick the winner of this contest completely at random?

Austin nor anyone else was supposed to know. Thats a fickle matter to bring up. The colors were not rated upon.

I agree 100% that Dcs had the better ride. Think of it this way though, I rated all the rides the same. As the overall response from a group of people deciding as to weather it was a ride worth building or not. So while Dcs had a more thrilling ride, it was not appealing to everyone at the meeting. Ianko's did appeal to many more overall as did Onjin. I personally dont want to sit on a train for 30 seconds after the ride is over, unless there is a problem with the ride, so Onjin was out. Thats how and why Ianko won. Fair or not, all three could have won, all three stood above the others. I had to chose one and thats what I did. Personally, I think I did it fairly.

why did dcs get a better rate on the exchange, but didn't win? That I don't understand.

lol another funny contest.

rates made me laugh. contradicts that a shorter height is better on one because it makes people happy, which should've been a deduction not a positive. and mentions a 3d pathway in a rating too in a positive way when he said 3ds weren't included in the rating. And how an exit is on a midway.. because we know where the midway is..? and some ratings talk about the GP's opinion at then end, some other during the rate categories and not at the end, etc. oh well

And I guess I and everyone was supposed to know everything about this park, and like GP really notices that 3 separate parks have coasters w/ the same colors..

contests need more than one person because there are always problems in almost every single one on this site.

I had fun building though so thats all that counts.

so it appeals more to everyone here including you but not the invisible people in your head?

So 5 days of work lost to 4 hours? Screw it I'm not doing contests anymore :/

Higher overall rate on the exchange loses to a lower one doesn't make sense man..

Austin, 3Ds were not rated. There was a Loophole though which stated no 3ds, it never said anything about no support paths. The same goes for Dcs's scream shields.

A113 ended up coming in 4th and getting the mention.

What I don't get is some of you are complaining about the results and didn't even submit a track. That's weird.

Thanks Tetsu for a challenge. Congrats to Ianko. Time to go check out the entry rides.

If Tetsu took the highest rated ride for the win, then I would have won. No big deal. I seem to always have stacking issues on my rides. He chose who he chose.

Ianko, you taking the points or the trip?

One last thing that I found interesting.

Isn't this a fail on tunnel test? Sorry Ianko66, I found this on your track.

Well the riders wouldn't be able to reach anything from there so it probably would be safe. As long as the train doesn't come through that tunnel it is all fine.

^Okay. Yeah, the track is banked away from the other tunnel. Maybe I'm too harsh on my tunnel testing. I won't release a ride if it has any tunnel, support or ground inside the tunnel area. That's just me.

Ianko66, just so you know, I am not trying to get Tetsu to reverse his decision. Your ride was the only one that had a tunnel in a tunnel.

^That has always confused me. I don't know if its on the same block since its track and a brake run. What constitutes the same block?

one block starts at the end of a brake run/lift hill to the beginning of the next brake run or lift hill.

If its a brake run block before a track block, then a train could enter and stop in the brake block if the track block is occupied. But in normal operation, 2 blocks separation is used.

then id say yes since a train could be on the brake while the other running

Take the other tunnel away and test again. If a handrail or even track comes through that tunnel. It failed imo.
