Did Jesus exist? Italian court to decide

No shock that article was coming out ... but since when did these folks "not" tell the US to "shut up and butt out". Kinda like reporting that it might rain in Seattle this year .... however, perhaps we ought to stay out of this one. That is my thought anyway.

o, yes about, that, it's a real hot thing here in europe for the last two weeks, and IMO this only strenghtens the (wrong?) image we have about muslims, and if you don't like them cartoons then don't read the paper

What I find really amusing is the crowds of protesters of these cartoons/articles are loaded with women -- and most of them have not been educated enough to read ... so, what are they all upset about? Sad, but something to consider at any rate.

On the subject of religion and junk; there is a house on my way to work that is covered with writing that the owner has painted on. The writing generally says things like "Jesus loves you" and "Jesus is our saviour" and all that other clich?????????d bullsheisse, well anyway it got me thinking, that is exactly the same thing as releasing a cartoon about a God depicting him with a bomb on his head ... far fetched yes, but stay with me on this one heh ... Basically, by writing those sorts of messages on the outside of ones own house, you are expressing to everyone that drives or walks past your house what your opinion is. Well, how does that differ from a Danish Cartoon ... drawing .... guy, expressing his opinion to anyone who wants to look at it?

It's like "You can say anything you want about anything or anyone .... so long as it's nice and completely none offensive in anyway shape or form to any particular group or culture". And how anyone can be offended by someone elses opinion is beyond me Some people obviously have pretty weak strength of mind .... not that I'm saying Muslims are weak minded people or anything, no, not at all, I mean, I wouldn't want half of the planet to riot and burn down the British Embassy in their countries just because I stated my opinion

Your only flaw is that you are incorrect about your comparison.

When someone writes "Jesus Loves You" or "Jesus is Lord" on their house or out in public, thats a statement. It can also be a depiction BUT its in alignment with what the Bible says so its true.

For the Muslims, they dont believe in any sort of physical or rendering of Allah because they feel it makes people develop Idols. So, for someone to create a cartoon or any depiction of Allah means its blasphemous for them to do so. Most religions do not tolerate blasphemy very well.



However, I dont see how having an image of your god creates a false idol unless you worship the picture instead of the god.

Something is true just because the bible says it is? This is what makes me laugh so much about stuff like this, I mean, actually what the fudge? People wouldn't look at me twice if I walked around saying "listen to me, what I am saying is true because I am saying it!". So why is it the case for the bible, or any other holy book for that matter. the difference with me is, I'm honestly not bothered whether I am or not, because, what's the point of living in fear of what happens to us after we die, when in all probability we do actually just die and seize to exist, only our puny minds can't handle that and so we make these things up to appease ourselves, like I said, it really is amusing.

No world religion states that killing and terrorizing is okay. The people that do that are extremists, and they twist religious teachings in an effort to try and get people to follow them. But the Bible, as well as just about every other form of holy scripture, clearly says "thou shalt not kill" and "love thy enemy". Anyone who says otherwise is committing religious blasphemy, and is a false prophet.

well....you are stating that they can't post cartoons that are about the holocaust....right?

now, why would the be unable to post cartoons that may upset us, and we (as in westerns) can post cartoons that upset them....? that's not right, if you find a cartoon upsetting, that don't look at it (anymore), but don't go light an embassy

and if they would post something that might upset us, most of us don't care, the worst thing these muslims should fear is a <insert severe eye roll> from Tcon
