just got back from disneyworld!

magic kingdom
the area in front of the castle is boarded up, don't know what's going on there.

20,000 leagues under the sea is gone and boarded up, but a ride on dumbo can reveal a whole lot of dirt and construction behind the wall.

space mountain got rid of the tv monitors in the waiting area.

stitch's great escape is fun and cute, but it's not thrilling at all- nor is it that dark.

micky's philharmagic was much better than i had expected. it's a 3d animated movie that fills your entire view. it was funny and cute, but no thrills or anything.

epcot:

test track brke on us so it's timing between blocks was off during the ride and it would have extremely abrupt, random stops. ouch.

mission space was a dissapointment. the ride was very short and the g's were not extreme at all. it was fun, but not what i had expected. i reccomend riding it when the line is short (never).

the land pavillion was open when we got there so we got to go on the ride and stuff, and all the mobiles and balloons and crap that were on the ceiling were gone and being repainted in mgm studios. there was also a sign (and walls) where food rocks was that was advertising sorin'. later in the trip, the entire building was blocked off and soarin' posters were up on the walls around the pavillion.

mgm:

rockin' roller coaster was much more fun than i had remembered! no changes here, but i thought it was interesting that they have 4 trains running on the track at once- along with a spare train, making for 5 trains. that's a lot on one track! also, i thought it was powered by lims, but after getting the front seat (finally!) i can see that it is not powered by lims or lsm's of any kind. (i feel stupid now lol)

the tower had a cool commercial. it was a view of the buttons on the elevator and they were lighting up in random orders then it cut to words saying "the good news: we made it worse." i thought it was interesting they can make such a vague commercial and people can actually know exactly what its for. but now the tower has 4 random drop sequences so you never know exactly when it'll drop.... or even if it'll drop. i rode it 3 times and on the second one, where it normally drops, it went up quite a bit, then dropped. i was expecting a drop so that sucked[}:)] other than that, i think the tower got tamer.. or i just got used to it? who knows.. it's still fun.

from the backlot tour, it's possible to see the set for the new stunt show opening later this year. they were rehearsing it when i was on it so it was fun to see an unexpected preview.

star tours sucks. the theming is great, but the ride is extremely dated. they need to re shoot the ride... mabey make it 3d or something. same with body wars.

the animation studio tour is virtually nothing now. a small show with mushu from mulan and a museum. nothing like it was before the studio closed.

animal kingdom:

not much going on here. all the rides were the same as last time i went. dinosaur is awesome still, primeval whirl is still bumpy as hell. (the left is smoother than the right side)

there was a talking and moving trash can at rafiki's planet watch. there was also one in tomorrow land. i need to get one of them things!

everest is HUGE! it's clearly visible from many spots all over ak and the parking lot. the trackwork looked complete and the theming (wireframe) is mostly in place and is comming along very nicely. i cant wait for this to open! supposedly it'll reach speeds of 70 mph and go both forwards and bakwards. and for a vekoma ride, it looks very smooth.

that's about it! oh.. don't ever stay in the all star resorts! they're like a themed motel 6. i've stayed in most of the disney resorts- so i can honestly say that those are the worst. yes they're cheap- but the moderate resorts are SO much better for not too much more.

but if money isnt a problem, i reccomend the wilderness lodge, the board walk, the yacht and beach club villas. mgm studios and epcot are less than a 15 min walk from the board walk and yacht and beach club, and the wilderness lodge has a boat ride to the magic kingdom so transportation at these resorts is very very easey. and they're really beautiful resorts too.

that's it! hopefully i'll get back to disney soon![:D]
