[Not so] Dueling Dragons

I may not be the first to hear this, but I didn't see a topic about it. My friend from Dorney writes articles for coaster-net and I found this on their site.

God f****** damnit! If these riders were deliberately injured by other riders throwing objects on the ride, then they have ruined one of the best dueling coasters in the world.

My thought is maybe cell phones or other things. This is a shame though.

Money on them putting up some sort of net between the vertical loops and maybe alongside Fire's camelback within a year or two, then continuing the dueling.

I know two people actually who had been kicked during the vertical loops from people on the other train, so I don't think they would be able to put a net between the loops unless they modified the track so that the loops were a bit farther apart and maybe so that Ice's Zero-G-Roll was a bit lower.

I have a better idea. The park should just set up high resolution cameras on Dragon Challenge, that way if an incident happens like this, then the cameras will pinpoint who was involved. Then we simply kill the people who caused the incident [:)]

Bummer. I hadn't been on that yet. Camera idea is good. Here's why:

The second to last time I went to SFMM, riding on Goliath with kids in the second car--me in the last car--throwing pennies while we are going up the lift.

I asked them to stop and they did. But, we hit the drop and I hear something zing past my ear. Felt the wind differential, it was that close. Bottom of drop in up slope, I started yelling at those 2 kids. They threw coins every chance they could before the MCBR. Then I threatened their lives and they stopped throwing poop. I've never seen anyone run that fast of a ride exit. Luckily no one on a full train was injured. I still want to beat them senseless to this day.

So many people need removing from the gene pool. Like some kids from my school throwing pennies off the Eiffel tower on a school trip. Fortunately they got caught shortly after.

Like the camera idea though.

I really feel that this isn't right... It's not the rides fault people are being hit, its the people riding that find it funny to throw stuff or ride with loose articles. I've been to universal and its more fun when they dual because the red has an airtime hill that goes right over the blues zero-g and it looks like your going to collide but it adds more excitement to the ride.

i worked at six flags over texas at super man tower ride
and we ask guest not to drop poop,
i have been hit by quarters, dimes, penny's. and they do hurt a lot..

but dueling dragons is fun though
i think the camera is a good idea
and maybe add some tunnels to the ride and some themeing
and have voldamort at the end to kill any one that throws poop at the other train

Replace the entire ride with a 3D cinema version.

I have been hit by small objects on the old-1992-rattler. Problably caused be the ejector air on first drop.Or kids throwing pebbles. No injuries. the camera idea is important for saftey.Cameras on walking trails as well. And Voldmort too a great idea LOL!

This blows so much. I don't believe this. Someone is screwing around. For both incidents to happen within 2 weeks, and, to my knowledge, never to occur before, it's the same person.

That totally sucks, never even got a chance to ride it before this incident. IMO each of the tracks just kind of look like a mediocre B&M bs,y themselves, but, since they have them dueling, it looks pretty bad ass. I am actually quite pleased that the park decided to take action before anything serious happened. Seems odd that this is happening all of a sudden though. Leads me to also believe that it is the same person. Wait a sec, has anyone heard from Jcoasters in the last few days, i'm just saying.

I went 2 months ago and I rode it 8 times and it only dueled once. They always slow one on the lift hill so the other can catch up but then they always stop the blue one at the top for no reason.

I will not return there till they duel again. Simple as that. Ill go to Busch Gardens Tampa and WDW instead.

When I first heard that they were going to replace the theming with the Harry Potter theme, I knew I had to get there before they changed the ride. Glad I did, especially after this.

Just to lighten the mood, the dragons are taking revenge.
