there was a topic on here a while ago about editing the g-limits in NL to more realistic limits...how do you do it?

I think 1.6 incorporated some more realistic values, but if you still want to manually define your own you can do this :

Create a .cfg file in the Nolimits directory.

Edit the file, paste these entries in and edit them accordingly.

sim.vertg.posyellowlimit = 5.0
sim.vertg.posredlimit = 6.7
sim.vertg.negyellowlimit = -1.1
sim.vertg.negredlimit = -1.8
sim.latg.yellowlimit = 1.2
sim.latg.redlimit = 1.8
sim.accg.yellowlimit = 2.0
sim.accg.redlimit = 3.0

I can't remember if you need a specific file name for it, but try something like config.cfg or nolimits.cfg to see if they work.

Basically yeah, but with a .cfg extension instead of .txt

It somehow does not work.

This is how I did it.

First- created a new document
2nd- put in the values and changed them to my liking
3rd- saved with a cfg extension

And somehow the computer does not recognize it nor does it work in the sim.

Simply typing .cfg might not be enough... and you really shouldn't use Microsoft Office Word... Try Notepad or Wordpad (preferably Notepad) or something like that... Not a textprogram with all different styles, colors and text types. Just a basic program.
Then don't just name it .cfg but SAVE as .cfg. That is something really different for Windows.

If you keep it as a text file you'll just end up saving it as
nolimits.cfg.txt

You need to select the 2nd option.

use the drop down, select all files, then enter in the window: nolimits.cfg

save it and now there should be a file called nolimits.cfg

In case it's on Windoze - which apparently likes to hide file extensions - after a few minutes it'll sure work out like that:

"nolimits.cfg.txt.cfg.exe.jpg.pdf.txt.txt.bak.txt"

then best send per mail and get sued for spreading a virus...

If you have file extensions hidden then you will NOT be able to - in most cases - rename a file correctly. Unhide the extensions, save as a text then "rename" file and rename it to end with .cfg. Bingo - got any problems then you are really doing something wrong.

The hiding of the extension of "known types" is something that everybody should switch off permanently the oment the OS is installed (or at least now).
It is that "feature" which "helps" certain users to get infected with viruses over and over again, while other users work with windows for ten years without EVER getting a virus into the system.

"Oh, a text file, let me read it" -> clickclick -> text.txt (which of course actually is text.txt.exe, only that windows decided to cut the extension) starts up and WHAM! infected.

You can also use the codes in the second post in a .env file to change the G-color-settings on your coaster only btw [:)]
