I rode a Chance Pharaohs Fury pirate ship ride with my girlfriend and we sat in the very back row. We both got solid ejector airtime and cam out of our seats and up onto the loose fitting lap bar. Do you usually get this much airtime on a normal pirate ship ride?
I like the pirate ships with lapbars that give you room to stand up. I've even been one at a crappy carnival where the restraint on the back row failed to close, and I was able to stand up completely at the peak of the swing.
Nothing beats a ride on a giant Screamin' Swing with the lapbar three or four inches away from you, though. It's an amazing feeling.
It is impossible to get ejector on a pirate ship, thats the way they work... once the wheel stops pushing gravity the the only factor so when it stops for a nanosecond you get 0g but when you are going down weigh about .73g until you go into the positive g-forces.
I can make a chart if you don't understand
No, with the way that pirate ships work, it isn't possible to get ejector air, only floater. This is because the only force acting to bring the ship back down is the force of gravity. In the ships swing, it comes to a stop at the top after being slowed down by gravity and then starts to return again using only the force of gravity.
To acheive ejector air, another force MUST be acting upon the ship, for example; there could be a motor at the point the ship pivots on the arms that acts to push it with force back towards the ground before it comes to a natural stop at the top of it's swing.
If the ship ride wasn't thrilling enough the Starship 2000 ride was though. I was pinned to the sled as the ride started and then all of the sleds banged up to the top of the ride, stayed there, banged down, banged back up, stayed and eased back down to finish the ride. I was undergoing only 2 Gs!
dont know if theres a difference between Pharos Fury and Sea Dragon, but sitting in the end seats on a sea dragon gets a ton a sweet air!! Especially because the restraints are loose as crap.
