me and my family are planning on going to SFGAdvbut we want to go after El Toro opens. so i sent a letter to the site asking when it Will be open and this is the reply i got.

"Thank you for your email. We do not have an opening day for El Toro but are hoping for late June...Please continue to check the website for updates on El Toro. Sorry for the inconvenience."

when they said late June i was surprised because the pictures on the site show that the ride is almost done as well as the report say that 95 percent was finished. so my question is, does anyone else know when El Toro is going to be open, or is the email correct?

No. Always best to take the no risk answer. If it opens before he goes, it will still be open.

This ride is taking a long time. Does anybody else think June is rather late?

yea june is very late
i think it is kinda lame that they are taking forever to build El Toro
Especially considering the fact that it is built by Intamin AG and the track is prefabricated.
So i really hope it opens before the end of june

I just saw on coaster net that one of the members there took pictures of the El Toro sings in the park and it says two weeks until El toro gets unleashed so that means that it opens in two weeks not in late June the track is almost complete and the trains are in the park in the station so testing prolby started on the El Toro so it will open in two more weeks that is really good news because everyone on this form wants to ride and so do I so I will ride it this summer so I just thought that I would let everyone on this site know the good news about the El Toro opening in two weeks not in late June.

It seems very doubtful that they are going to finish the track, finish the electrical work, and test all in 2 weeks.... im not saying its NOT going to happen, but that its very unlikely.

It's Intamin, they know what they're doing. I'd be willing to bet it opens in two weeks, not reliably though. That'll take 3 or so.

Its Intamin - it wont be up.

If it is up - I bet its not running well at all. Remember, it does have a cable lift and MF has FITS with its cable lift. They could but I doubt it. They need to take their time and do it right.

But hey - they claim itll be done:

Well... they still need to finish the track, then they need to clean up the area, put up fencing, land scape, and test. All that took about a month for tatsu, so Mid - late june sounds about right.

I'm gonna have to agree with yoshi on this one.
Is there a big difference between MF anf El Toro's lift?

Whoever replied is a moron. On GADv.com and TN, everyone including myself is pretty sure it will be open the weekend after Memorial Day.

There is a train on the transfer track, but it's still wrapped in plastic. That's all I know about the trains so far. http://www.sixflags.com/parks/greatadve ... tos/99.jpg

Also, they are currently working on the cable lift which is probably the final stage before testing. http://amusementpics.com/2006%20Expansion.htm

and like bowsrejoe said most people on gadv.com say that they think the coaster will open by memorial day weekend. IMO i think that it will be open sometime between memorial day weekend and June 17 because the coaster celebration flyers say that there will be ERT on El toro and coaster celebration is june 17

El Toro's first test run will be Monday or Tuesday. I got this info from one of the project guys I spoke with when I was at the park last Monday. There is no way it will get the necessary cycles and get approved by next weekend. Look for second weekend in June.
