Well after riding El toro over the weekend again this year and really realizing how amazing of a ride it is, I had decided to make a recreation of it. I intend this to be very accurate, featuring custom supporting, all the excitement of the real ride, and everything possible to capture the feeling of the ride. All of the hill heights are exact and the g's sustained on each hill are accurate to how they are in real life. I really hope you guys will think this does El Toro justice.

Yay! I rode it over the easter weekend, and I loved it so much, my fave coater of all time. Really glad to see this recreation, and it looks pretty good. But one thing, I think that airhill that leads into the twister section needs to be a bit more round...I found that it was shaped a bit strange when i saw it, and I think it needs to be a bit less pointy at the top of it.

Your track look fairly accurate going out and the turn coming back but after that I can't say because I don't know how the track ends. I've seen pictures of it on rcdb.com. Make sure your hills are the same height as shown on rcdb.com. Also don't forget to see if your track length is about the same as rcdb says. The only problem that I can foresee you having is getting the proper curvature on the tops of the hills and in the dips going out. That will affect the G forces going over those hills. Since you have ridden it and I have not, you should know what kind of G forces there are over the tops of those hills and if the G forces are sustained over the entire tops of the hills. What intrigues me about El Toro is the prefabricated wooden track. That's something that has never been done with wooden roller coasters in the past. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

As for you blackhand, are you sure you are going to customsupport it all? if i were you i'd let the supportgenerator make the structure directly under the track, and then you can do the extended supports in the turn and the lateral and diagonal bracing

A: Unless you have some blueprints (and I'm pretty sure you don't considering even the head of PR at GADV didn't have any) then your hill heights are most likely not exact, as only the first few are listed.

B: look at pictures while recreating, it'll help you avoid some of the horribly incorrect shaping I see especially in a few spots.

What are approximate max forces on the camelbacks that you have?

That what i did. I remove anything don't need and add what i need and any section that is unworkable i completely custom support.

dcs221 - other than the hill before the twister section what other spots need to be reshaped. Also the first two camelbacks get -1.5 to -1.6 each time in both the back and front and the hill before the twister sectio pulls about -1.7 in the back. Its hard to chosse exactly what is the best amount as the real coaster can vary from to ride. What would you say are good g's that I should try to get for those.

For that hill entering the twister section, I'd say 1.5 is about right. It doesn't really have any more air then the other 2 major air hills IMO.

The first two hills have -1.3 in air...and that's just in the back and the front.

Overall the ride looks pretty decent, but the entire twister section just looks off to me. This includes the turn over the first valley. Also, speaking of the first valley, the drop shaping looks far off to me.

I also highly doubt that the hill into the twister section exceeds -1.5, or maybe -1.6...

Gerstkid, front row does have strong forces entering the twister section, but they're definately accentuated by the high jerk value...that means because the transition from positives to strong negatives is so ridiculously quick, the negatives feel a lot stronger than they probably are. For reference, I've ridden 15 times... 2nd public morning train ever in the 2nd row, then a few more front car, and a front row ride mixed in with many back car rides. Morning, afternoon, night, cold, hot, you name it.

I'd say Jakizle is close with those values...likely since he probably got them from speaking with me lol. I'm not going to help too much further, nothing personal but I'm also making the same ride so while I wish you the best, NL is still competitive.

Haha, yeah, I did...I totally forgot about the insane air in the front on that though! Man, wierd![flush]

^ I got 8 rides on it, 5 front 3 back, and the air in the front does seem a bit stronger on the hill. I'm totally not sure if thats just like that illusion like you just said, but it really, really did feel just a tad bit stronger IMO.

OH! And i just need to say I got a ride on in the snow![blah]
