I'd imagine something with a bullet nose like that would slice through the air rather than plow through it, which would reduce drag, and would also allow a safer airflow over the riders, as last time I checked, 149mph winds in your face makes you want to stop breathing [:O]

Putting a bullet nose on it is fine, but they put fake tires and spoilers on them, which would increase drag. This is a rollercoaster, not a car, so please act like it. Having coaster cars look like actual cars or trains is stupid on a wild mouse or kiddy coaster, but this is a serious thrill ride for grownups.

Yea, so itll be absolutely no fun unless they theme it to a train! Complete with sleeper car, luggage car and throw in the caboose for good measure!

Cuz really, every coaster train should look like the standard, basic Intamin Mega Trains. Those trains are no frills, cut through the air and resemble a roller coaster. Remember, if it doesnt look like that, its not a serious coaster.

What else would they theme it to? The park is dedicated to F1 racing, which in my opinion is a hell of a lot better than Nascar. It fits with the park, so it would be stupid to theme it to anything else.
Just keep scrolling...

Well however obvious the racing car theme, it is the most appropriate and it works. Its better than giving it some random theme that has nothing much to do with the ride. E.g. Compare how suited the TTD theme is, over the Kingda Ka theme.

Anyway this ride looks crazy. Im excited to see some videos of it once its completed and testing. Im kind of expecting though once it opens to hear people say its uncomfortable and vibrates alot. But still, its going to be an interesting one to watch develop. And im liking how different it is to the usual Rockets that top 100mph.

Very surprised to see that a coaster of that speed has a full layout with no breaking between launch and finish.

Hmm, Kingda Ka is 124 mph and is very unreliable so 149mph intamin rocket will be extremely unreliable, do we know if it will be lims or hydraulics?

I'd bet hydraulics, just a guess but I think a hydraulic launch is more reliable and cheaper to power each cycle than LIMs are(although money, clearly, is not an issue here) . . . Is there a full circuit 100+ mph coaster that uses LIMs?

^no, but i guess the LIMs can go to the same speed without anywhere near as much stress, mainly because each lim is set at a certain speed so the launch strip would be longer but i guess it could go faster without ripping itself to shreads. (the barrel in a hydraulic launch for say kingda ka has to spin at 124 mph, when something is moving that fast it can create a dis-balance very easily and send parts flying everywhere)

I dunno about lims or hydraulic launch, but looking at that drawing, I'm seeing pinch wheels.

It has a brake that slows the the train significantly before the last set of hills, but there's a lot of track before it gets to that point.

I just can't imagine the size of a ride like this. If I try to make realistic turn after only a 124 mph launch in Nolimits, it takes up nearly the whole grid. This ride is going to be huge!

That building is unbelievably huge, too. Does it say anywhere what the area under that roof is going to be?

Did anyone else see the Engine Ride experience? LOL

Yeah, I did see the engine ride. That made me laugh!
The ride, though, looks like it's gonna be totally and completely ridiculous in terms of size, speed, and adrenaline. I'm glad someone somewhere is pushing the limits on coasters again! It's just too bad that it's not in the US...

has to have a near 80m radius to get a 4g force at 124mph.

I think the design should recreate the forces of certain epic corners - like becketts and eau rouge.

I say, with this speed, go right up to 5G turns. Who cares if a few people black out!

It looks like they styled it to a hydraulic launch in the NL video.

Firstly, Holy crap! [lol]

Yeah this thing has to be gigantic for it to be able to do those kind off turns at that speed... safely... I might add that the video was a bit overkill on the airtime including the weird ass shaky transition times. ouch.

^Agreed the floor space should be a record for a dome like structure such as this and will leave a red dot on the earth's surface. [lol] Engineers are at the Ego phase with all this stuff again.

if only the US had the amount of oil they have... this coaster would have been built on our soil
do you guys really see yourself ever going on that coaster while it is being built there?

*sigh*

^ Only NOT in California would find something like that. All we got is a whole portion of the state covered by Big Ass Old Tree's or desert and traffic galore.
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.

^Uhh, you forget how much desert there is to build something like that in. I cite El Centro California [:)]

People keep in mind Dubai's economy has COMPLETELY crashed. Maintence costs may be an underlying issue.
