^Good point. Elements are physically sections of the layout. When you start repeating large chunks (cobra rolls, interlocking corkscrews) things start becoming the same.

I still love B&M coasters (I think they are more aesthetically pleasing than Intamins), but after my Cedar Point visit my "Top 5 Group" isn't dominated by Busch Gardens Tampa's rides anymore.

Children, children...seems every thread has some kind of stupid yet enticingly funny arguments. Thank you for the comic relief.

In my opinion:

In terms of adrenaline and fun factor, Riddler's takes the cake easily. Better flow, better environment interaction (especially now that the trees are filling out and getting bigger). Loop goes under/over lift, A+, dive loop 2, goes over/under lift/exit path, A+, ride has inclined loop into air hop at an extreme angle, A+, corkscrews are not interlocked and separated by even more air time, 1st and last cork over queue area, A+. It only has 2 element orders in common with Scream. Loop to Dive Loop. Corks on Rid don't interlock and are far away from each other.

Scream however does have some fun moments especially the roll before the cobra, but like I said, it just lacks a nice environment, nothing more tacky than looking down are parking lines and asphalt. Stupid coaster wars made this happen. And somehow it is a rougher ride, which it shouldn't be since the build is newer than Riddler's. The key to a really good ride on Riddler's is seat adjustment. Banana needs to be 4 or more inches down from your crotch. Shoulder harness should be very tight on tops of shoulders and you need to be able to lock and unlock your knees. As you go through the ride, you need to push up against the harness, G's will keep you like that for the entire ride. Arms always up reaching for the sky. That's how I ride it, and I've never had crotch problems from the ride. Jello legs yes, but not hurt nuts.

And it's Green!!!

Coaster: Phantom's Revenge @ Kennywood Park.

Why?: The swooping first drop is awesome, but the second drop over the ravine looking towards the river is pure bliss...not to mention the awesome turn around, glorious bunny hops and then double-down bunny hop near the finish...are you kidding me?! Awesome ride!

Close second: Maverick @ Cedar Point

I haven't been to Cedar Point in years, so I haven't tried most of their new coasters. But my favorite the first time I went back in 1996 was The Raptor, and it's still my favorite to this day. I'd never been on anything like it at that point, and it blew me away with its combination of speed and inversions. Nothing could've prepared me for my first cobra roll. [:)]

Probably the same as OP. X2, basing opinion of when I rode the original, X. Its initial drop is one of THE BEST 2 I've ever experienced (the other one being Griffon). Offers quite a perspective compared to any other coaster experience I've had. And also what the OP said - it's amusingly disorienting (of course not knowing if there's any difference since it became X2). Suspenseful moments, and some pretty astounding somersaults.

My favorite is NEW Texas Giant. It beats the crap out of El Toro. All the freaking airtime is AMAZING.
For steel, I would say Intimidator 305. It's really rough and fast, sort of like Titan or Goliath. When I say rough, it's with those magical twisted turns. It's awesome.

New Texas Giant is a wooden coaster? Weird...At least El toro's track base is wood. I gave those crap for being hybrids but the Iron Horse is in no way a wooden coaster afterwards. Steel track, poly wheels - only thing missing is the rails being tubular but thats not a true definition either.

If thats the case, Gemini and Mine Ride are wooden coasters at CP as well!

But if I could ride it I think Storm Runner and Dueling Dragons would be unseated from the steel coaster throne by New Texas Giant. Easily.

Texas Giant is a Hybrid. I wanted to say something about Intimidator 305 too, and it is steel, so I put steel. Read my post again, and you will see that I didn't call it wooden or steel. Shazam!

^You implied it. You said "it beats the crap out of El Toro" and the proceeded to say "For steel..." thus implying that the first sentence was wooden and the second was steel.

Boulder Dash is number one by far. Everything about it is just so much more fun than any coaster I've been on.

Second is probably the Voyage just for its pure insanity, and then third is Storm Runner. Manta's pretty close to my top three, too.

Wicked at my local park Lagoon. It introduced me to the vertical ascent and drop in one go, while also introducing me to the LSM Launch. Then it introduced me to the Zero-g roll. I had only heard about these elements prior to my first ride. It's awesome.

OMG I thought the same thing when i got off of I305. I was like "the insanity of those turns reminded me of the helixes and turns on Titan that nearly made the ride for me (the unusually long airtime hill drop and loose restraints did it for me)"

I305 is my fave, followed by BD then Storm Runner, and its hard to decide after that. Probably el toro.

Honestly, I cannot easily narrow down my favorite(s). I really enjoy a lot of different coasters for many different reasons. Some I enjoy because they are just pure fun, others I enjoy because I do enjoy getting the ever-loving poop scared out of me every once in a while( back row on Xcelerator with my hands up). I was NOT expecting the airtime over the outside top hat to be that intense. Others are just classic.( Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz and Belmont Park). X2 because when it first opened it was truly different from any other coaster I have ever experienced. The first drop at night( pre-transformation) felt like going skydiving. The Beast at KI. I don't care what anyone else thinks, riding the Beast at night was a truly exhilarating experience, especially because I don't live anywhere near the park so I have only been once in the last 12 years, but, what a trip that was. Vortex, one of the last of the great arrow multi-loop coasters, Top Gun, for the short layout it packs a decent punch, Racer Backwards, aside from colossus at SFMM during special events (fright fest and spring breakout) not a whole lot of opportunities to ride a coaster facing backwards where I live. Pony Express, what a unique experience, it may not be the fastest or tallest, but, for what it is, it is definitely worth a ride, just brace for the final brake run. Riddler's Revenge, mainly because I believe it to be one of, if not, the BEST B&M stand-up coaster built so far. Apollo's Chariot BG VA, one of the most scenic and exciting hyper coasters I have ever ridden. Big Bad Wolf(RIP) Hands-down arrow's best suspended coaster, I hope the coaster that is set to replace it makes up for such a devastating loss. Although it does not have all the coasters on my list BG in VA is by far my favorite overall park. Not only do they have awesome coasters, but, their collection of flat rides and awesome scenery create a wonderful experience. I have many others that rotate from my best of list, but, these are the ones I always leave at the top.

New Texas Giant would be if the pacing was better at the end. It's a shame that into the tunnels, it totally lacks the incredible airtime it has before that. With that said, I'd say Maverick. CRAZY FAST for its size and a random hill before the horseshoe roll that probably isn't over 50 feet with almost ejector airtime.
