About a week ago, I started work on my newest project, Taurus. Taurus is an Intamin giga coaster like no other. It lifts passengers up its 70 degree lift, 373 feet above the turf, and drops them down 357 feet at 85 degrees, reaching speeds up to 100 mph. Its passengers will experience many instances of high forces, including multiple instances of strong airtime. It includes several low-ground high speed turns, but also high hills, taking influence from both Millennium Force and the new Intimidator 305. Track spine strengthening has enabled the ride to have only one support on the lift hill, and one on the 1st drop. Improved cable lift technology allows the train to climb the lift in just 25 seconds.

The name is subject to change, other name ideas include Altitude, Genocide and xSpeed. Feel free to suggest one of these names or add your own.

I'm looking for about 3 experienced testers.

Also, anyone who would like to help me by making a 3ds cable lift, I will give you sneak peaks, and will send the track to you at least 2 days before posting it on the site. I may also give you 500 site points. Depends if I'm feeling generous! [;)]

Heres a sneak peak:

Thanks for reading.

Edit: I have renamed and re-themed this ride, to horror theme, titled "Fear Itself" Here's the trailer:

Think you can show us a little more? Like the full lift and drop?

shaping is terrible, simply because the lift is WAYYYYY to steep.

The lift is purposefully that steep. Why is that too steep? I agree with dcs221, there are vertical lifts out there, why is 65-70* bad? It is built that way to conserve space, because in order to make a giga coaster that tall realistically, the lift hill cant be ridiculously long.

Does the drop give any floater, or is it just quick ejector and then slammed into the seats?

The front has a little floater and then it has positive forces, but they aren't very high. In the back there is some great floater, a full 1.7 seconds!

The radius seems a tad bit too small. Still try to style it off of Millennium or I305's lift crest. It needs to be more gradual.

The crest is kinda final, due to the fact that i have build after the hill, but i designed it purposefully that tight to create floater in the back, and it works quite well!

Sure. But it's a bit unrealisticly shaped.

Why is that unrealistic? Just because Intamin usually uses one shaping dosent mean it cant ever change.

Well Its unrealistic in the way that Intamin hasnt made a drop to that specific shape but It could without a doubt could be done. Its just that the original shaping they use for their drops tend to be more fun.

Yeah the shaping doesn't look too bad to me, especially considering how Intamin has been varying their lift hill apex shapes recently.

I think this apex would be extremely fun, it has great floater towards the back!

EXACTLY.
Millenium Force's lift hill was steeper than the previous record breaker's lift hill (Fujiyama I think?). People would have thought that would be unrealistic if it was built in nolimits first. People would have thought Intimidator 305's lift supports would be unrealistic if they were used in nolimits first.

I think the shaping on this coaster's lift hill is great, and not unrealistic at all. Something like this would not be realistic:

Just because it hasn't been done before dosen't mean it's not realistic.

The only thing I'd say is maybe the drop ends a little too early, but other than that it looks alright.

I just hope it's fun. The thing I look for in huge coasters, like this one, are two things.

1) Consistency
2) Originality

What were people moaning at the shaping on the drop for? It looks pretty much perfect. If the intention is to create a long period of floater air, and that shape is the way to acheive that... where is the problem?

Drop looks awesome as far as I can see musicmonkey, the only reason it may look slightly odd is because of the lift hill being so steep behind it, but like you said, it is required to be that steep, especially considering how small the NL editor is.

Trust me, this coaster is quite original. Right after the first drop comes a high-intensity element that i don't know what to call, but its certainly never been done before. After that includes a steep climb up an high airtime hill, into a low-ground turn which leads into an ejector hill. Thats most of whats there so far.

As far as consistency, it flows pretty nicely so far, but obviously tweaking will need to be done.

Might I suggest one thing about the lift though? I think that a lift like this should be supported like I305, with the thick truss under the track and only two main supports.

actually, thats how i have it, but I did it in a manner i think works better than I305. I have the double tube thick spine (see pic in 1st post) and, as you can see in the pic from the editor, one lift hill support. I have build one part way down the lift hill.

I have come across the issue that it is very hard to make a curved spine, so right now the apex is not very supported, however, due to the very high strength ans stability of an arched shape, it may be realistic anyway.

I love how people complain that it's unrealistic because it's never been done before, and then expect you to make it original.

I personally think it looks great. Your background story was well written, it got me interested.
