my laptop recently fried, and I lost everything... including no limits... because i never backed anything up (doh!). so now i'm on a fairly cheap laptop with an intel graphics card. i haven't contacted mad data yet on whether or not i can get a free replacement file for NL, but in the case that I might have to purchase it again, i just want to ask if it would even be worth my time or money with the laptop i have now. here's the specs:

Intel T4200 processor (dual core @ 2ghz)
4g ram
Intel GMA 4500M
Vista home premium 64 bit

I would look for one with a dedicated video card, or at least one with an integrated chipset not by Intel.

Well it should still work because it works fine on my old desktop which has a little better processor, probably the same graphics, intel accelerated, and only 512 mb of ram :P

Thanks for the responses. Since posting here this morning, I found a gadget called a hard drive enclosure kit (never even knew that such existed... guess i need to pay more attention). Anyways, I managed to recover everything from my fried laptop's hard drives and transfer to teh new laptop. Plus, now i have two spare hard drives that i can now use for external storage woohoo. Tried out NL... hmmm, well it isn't all that pretty, but it works. Tried out Gouldy's latest coaster that he uploaded last week, and it gets anywhere from 20-100 fps. no anti aliasing options either, which i'm gonna miss. but i guess AA wouldn't work so hot on this thing anyway.

NL will run just fine on a laptop like that if you set the graphics low enough. It will take a few adjustments to get it right, but after a couple times you will be able to get coasters running smoothly, and still look decent. NL is really not that heavy duty, trust me.

--edit--

Sorry, 1 minute late. You posted just before I did.

Haha, I just had that problem about 2 weeks ago. Mad Data gave me a free replacement link. Don't need to worry. [:)]
