Recently I acquired a 1925 blueprint for this coaster, and of course I set about doing a recreation as soon as I could. I was especially keen to see what the ride was like with its original double dip, which was removed in the early 1990s. I turned the blueprint into an object file and then built the coaster on top of it to get everything lined up correctly. Whoever drew the plan had some slightly wonky lines in places which I'll fix in due course, and then there's all those custom supports to do...still, it's a fun ride. Banking was done from photos as there aren't specific marks on the plan. The final screenshot has the correct lack of banking on the double down, but the drop is banked in the other screenshots. Auto supports have been used for now.

Can you find a blueprint from the Rye Playland Dragon Coaster?

I haven't looked, but since the park is still open and that is their signature ride, my guess is that they wouldn't let me have a copy of the blueprint anyway.

You will attach a draft today?

Oh yes, sorry, I didn't have time last night. Here it is. Note that I hadn't removed the banking from the double down at this point. Also, the straight sections will be straighter in the final version, as previously mentioned. Let me know what you think :)

I love the layout and pacing! Just fix the wobbly and swaying track and it will be even better.

Thanks! And the wobbling is Miller???s fault, not mine ??? on a lot of the parts of the straight sections his centreline isn???t on centre at all but is skewed to one side, and the inconsistency in this is what causes the wobbling and swaying. In an earlier version I did I kept the centreline consistently straight and the ride was much nicer. Later drafts will also have a straight centreline.

On a personal note, I really love the double dip. I was really excited to see how it rode and it adds a nice bit of extra action before the turnaround that was missing after the reprofiling.
