hey I have a quick question about the object creator.

Is it Illegal to use some of the texture already in your object folder for your own 3Ds

If you're using textures from your NL objetcs folder, then they most likely belong to some one elses ride, and thus you must get permission to use them from the creator.

well, it's hard to track down some texture names like s4Gfd52.jpg so yeah. But if the texture is in a specific folder with a nickname or ride name on it. Then it's the best to ask permission [:)]

For IamtheInterpol- If you want to use things like the environment-textures (lava, grass, etc.) I'm sure it's fine. However, if you want to use a cartexture that another designer presented, you'd be wise to get permission...

For phanoity- I am having the same problem, which was mentioned in the GSOC Issues thread ( http://www.coastercrazy.com/forum/topic.a ... C_ID=14043 which IamTheInterpol should've used [;)]). Someone said you have to save the textures with the object...how do you do that?

There are probably infinate other topics on this, but I will answer again. Try doing a simple forum search?

1. To make your own color for an object, drag the texture you want into the 'objtexturs' (Or something similar, I work on a Mac) folder.

2. When you hit 'export', it will ask you if you want to make the filenames into shorter names. Hit no.

3. Take the textures you want and drag them into the Objects folder (Program files > NoLimits > objects). I usually put the objects and the textures in a folder and put that folder in the objects folder. The texture MUST be in .jpg format.

Hope that helped.

They can be a lot of other types too, I don't know where that thought is coming from. Also they can be a bit wise size by any other bit wise size. So like 256x256 256x1024 512x2048 64x256 128x64 etc.

Yeah, I've used bitmaps and JPM resolutions with objtexes.

Get educated and read the helpfile. If you do, you'll find this:
"Textures can be in the format BMP, GIF, JPG or TGA. Textures must be a bit-wise size. This means that the pixel width and height must be a value of 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024 or 2048. The texture size does not have to be square, in other words a texture can have a size of 512 x 128. As long as the width and height are of a bit-wise value."

Oh... On what site does it mention the sizes, got a link?

^^^About that... What exactly is Bit-wise size? (like what does it mean, and why will only bit-wise sizes work?)

Let's see if we can explain...

BitWiseSize = 2^B
with B == 1...N
with N == integer numbers
with "integer numbers" == 1, 2, 3, etc.
with etc. meaning "et cetera."
with "1, 2, 3, etc." also including values larger than three!
with "values larger than three" depending on your abilities.
with "your abilities" in question...

And for the lesser experienced around here, I suddenly feel the strong urge to leave another precious hint for further public utilization:

"Square" == *same* size for Height and Width [:P]
