Ok, I keep coming accross stuff like, "Yes this can be used on hand built tracks", etc..

What the heck else is their besided hand built? Aren't all tracks hand built in NoLimits. Are people using some other sort of app and then dumping them into NL?

There are tools that create mathmatically perfect tracks for you, but they take a lot of getting used to. Most of them can be found here: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/toolbox

Oh, those must be for those serious builders. I just enjoy making and riding stuff, bumps, and errors as long as they are minor don't bother me a bit.

Well, thanks for the quick replies.

They are only mathematically perfect if the math used is perfect.

Theres also SEVERE limitations using the HSAK only because there are alot of realistic transitions you cannot create unless you can create your own formulas.

I find most pure HSAK rides lack a certain flow and feel very "elementarized" and dont really impress me that much.

Same here. I hate a perfectly smooth track with no creativity. A smooth tracks doesn't mean a good track.

Glad to find i'm not the only one who thinks this way. Yeah, i've seen some high rated tracks that are extremely boring but the fact they are carbon copied basic track designs with perfect elements they get the high marks. Give me something creative and unreal. This is why I enjoy NL so much. I can make stuff that couldn't possibly exist. Unfortunetly creative and unreal always gets low marks. Lately I've found the better tracks to be those rated in and around the 5 range or lower. They are more creative and are built outside the normal thinking box.

More unreal = A more fun virtual ride.

However, it is important to note that using any kind of tool is not an automatic "fix-all" for designs. For example, if you put a crappy track through the NL track smoother, you come out with "smoother crap loaded with issues" since most tools try to adjust for a designers errors and thus, it comes out very toasted. When you use tools, it is important to remember that you have to start out proper with design methods.

Personally, I would love to see an awesome hand built track again without the use of anything, especially the AHG ... but that is just me.

I use the smoother tool to help out some, but that AHG thing is just too dang much to figure out and deal with. I make my tracks in a day, not months. I don't know squat about real track designs so I just throw stuff together that looks fun to me. Like someone said, if it says fantasy then they should not be so harsh on the technical critiques and so forth. Maybe they should change the rating scale when a track is labled fantasy. Dump the technical catagory. I think alot of people including myself just enjoy the program on a simple level.
