Following the total loss of motivation with my B&M Invert "Crimson Nightmare", I went off and did a load of 3D work for people (ArcTec). But Crimson Nightmare wasn't a total loss, because it left me heavily inspired and also taught me a lot about how I work as a designer.
From this a new project was born, Harbinger.

My initial goal (which i succeeded in doing) was to beat Colossus' world record of inversions (10) using a B&M Floorless. I did this, and I also did it in a style where it didn't feel like inversion after inversion, and nor did I do it using cheap-shots like the quad-heartline-roll. Yet I wasn't entirely happy with it, and my initial principles went out of the window and I simply fell in love with the ride I was making. I binned the final inversion reducing the inversion count back to 10, matching the world record, and I changed the ride to a standard B&M Twister (Dragon Khan, Kumba etc). I like feeling closer to the track, despite the fact that I had to adjust a lot of shaping to suit.

I've now got a folder on my desktop which is full of about 25 photo's of Kumba, Dragon Khan, Hulk, Hydra and more which i'm using for reference of shaping.
The finished layout goes like this: -
-Dual load station
-Gentle right drop into JoJo (Hydra)
-Left bend up into trim then tyre drive lift (Hulk)
-Launch into Incline Dive Loop (Hulk/Hydra)
-Large 180ft drop left into Vert Loop
-Small bend then up into right Dive Loop
-Mild Left into Zero over MCBR
-Into Cobra followed by S-Bend-Hop
-Into tight upward coil left into MCBR
-Drop into Incline Loop (Mantis, Dragon Khan (normal loop))
-Overbank left swooping past station (Kumba)
-Interlocking Corks
-S-Bend-Hop into right upward helix (3.8G) (Kumba)
-Skid, Transfer, Dual Station.

Follow the photo's here:

Here are some anyway:

Here are my outline plans, of course being ArcTec, this will be 3D heavy:

I may be collaborating with another user to create a video of this (eventually) for those FPS sufferers out there. I welcome feedback and suggestions. At this point I imagine it being the end of July before this is finished.

^Not Half Life. Mass Effect.

And wow does this look Godly! I'm kind-of a Mass Effect fanboy so I'll love this ride (if it's themed for that).

I'm really liking the Launch into the Incline dive loop. Can't wait to see some more in the future.

Thanks for all the feedback. No I did not consider Mass Effect for the theme nor did I get the name from it. It simply popped into my head one day lol. I guess at this stage you could call it Project Harbinger or Code Name Harbinger, because the name could easily change when I decide on a theme. I welcome suggestions for names and themes.
I'll get up an image of the Incline Dive, if you can call it that. It's many things really, wide Zero G, Wing Over, Incline Dive etc. Feels epic though shooting out and spinning over the water then swooping right down to the water surface.

I like how it rolls under the lift, and I like the coaster. It looks huge.
But the one thing I don't understand is the black. In the last picture, is that just a "Blank" material?

Cheers Iron, more is on the way. Once AJClarke gets back and tests out the latest of my track work ill get progressing a bit more. Incline loops are quite tricky in Newton, in fact, everything is tricky in Newton. Where with hand building you can decide where you want the ride to go, in Newton the ride direction is all based upon speed and G's.

At least I can still model.

Wow I thought your 3ds was so good because you had a great knowledge of 3dsMax. Now that I know that you use SketchUp and its limited tools, I think I'm gonna go crawl in a corner and cry out of shame and discouragement.

ANYWAY. This looks so damn awesome. Can't wait to see where this will end up.

^It's based off of Pyrenees. I think it's a cool pace-break before the slammer helix, but then again, I was the one that suggested that he put it in lol.
