Yeah people seem obsessed with labeling every single band differently acording to their influences recently. Some of the other -cores I can think of are metalcore, mallcore (usually used as an insult[:p]), moshcore, grindcore, I've even heard the word thrashcore used before.

How about just change everything -core to thissongsuckscore. That solves 99% of the -core issues.

I don't know how one can dance to that music... I speed it up to like 180+ BPM and use it for cardio classes.

Period? not black flag?, not bad brains?, not minor threat? not the adolescents?
it's what i'd consider hardcore, but come on now, "living in darkness" is one of my favorite albums of alll time, and while it's a good example of o.c. punk from my day i wouldn't go as far as to say 'period'..
truly a great album though. i have all their albums on vinyl except for the mr mojo ep, but i don't have any of the reissues with the added stuff. why people even bother listening much to green day when this stuff has been around for the last 25 or so years confounds me.

I agree with Jayman. I dont know what the hell this Hardcore thing is up in the Holland. But I was raised on the real thing. Hardcore as in Punk Rock.
I like Dutch Hardcore, but bands like Mushroom Attack. Fleas and Lice and BGK. But from what these video's have shown? Whats this techno stuff??? Thats not hardcore in my eyes.

Well, I was obviously making an outlandish statement, the bands you named and some others are also true hardcore....but Agent Orange is head and toes above the rest IMO.

the only "Hardcore" bands i can actually think of in the 90s is like.. Nation of Uylsses, Born Against, Antioch Arrow, and maybe Rorschach.. but i don't think they really count..

Trust me I love techno as much as the next guy but that makes people think techno is crap. People need to listen to more Teisto or Ferry Corsten then tell me if you like techno/trance! BTW Someone on this site a while ago made somthing like this it was called "Feel so Good" and was actually good!

the only "techno" i like is probably Aphex Twin, Chemical Brothers, and very little Ministry of Sound. but.. that's not really the club techno stuff

the only reason I like Ministry of Sound really, is because they have a song title Faster Kill Pussycat! and there's a movie called Faster, Pussycat! KILL! and I just looooooooooooooooooove that movie

no, they don't... in fact you'll find that they are the beginnings of what tough metal guys call "emo" nowdays, ...antioch arrow? nation of uylsses? umm... man, were you even in kindergarten yet?
that was like 1991 -93 ... man it's good to see that some people don't let the media choose their tastes for them... [:)][:)]

[lol] i was just born in 1991 [:p]

oh well.. i guess i lack a definition of Hardcore

and no, big NO, for the Media. i've actually not like a media-related band since KoRn (unless you consider having a music video Media related).. and even then i was pre-Follow the Leader for me. after that it turned to crap

no offenes, but you were born the year it all went completely to Shiz.. imo..
1990 might have been punk's last good year.. it was very sad to start seeing "alternative' sections in the record store in the mall, or as a format on mtv.. not to mention having to hear pearljam all day, seeing retards from god knows where that i was in the navy with wearing nirvana t shirts was also very depressing. ah well... i'm an old, bitter music snob, what can i say except, "couldn't they have just kept liking guns and roses, stevie ray vaughn, and "the satch' and leave the good Shiz alone?"

this time I dissagree with Jayman. There was a load of great Hardcore bands that came out in the 90's like Driller Killer,Deathside,Extreme noise terror, Skitsystem and alot of 80's bands that where still alive like GBH or the Varukers and the Explioted. It just started to become more underground again. I would have to say I would consider Agent Orange more of a surf / skate band than Hardcore. I mean, come on, they did surf covers.
