i know all of us love to get on big rides that thrill the hell out of us, but as we know, that's not the only way to get adrenaline. haunted attractions serve the exact same purpose, and make a shitload of money while doing it(the one i worked for payed 500 bucks to make it, and got roughly 50,000 in profit back! in a month!). for the past 2 years i've worked on a haunted hayride and i've pretty much learned the buisness of how to make one work. they're very cheap to put on and bring in TONS of money. so, here's the reason why i'm posting this: i've always wanted to put on some sort of scary halloween attraction. now, i don't have any land to do it on, but i do have a full time job now and i'm saving up money. so basically i want to see what kinds of things you all would like to see in a haunted attraction. anyone have any ideas? tips? suggestions? etc? basically now i'm starting to plan it out a little bit. my goal is to have one up and running yearly by 2010. so yeah, any input is appreciated. you know how the haunted mansion has the statues that follow you? Just flip the mask so that the inside is facing outward, instead of the normal way. I also like the camalflauge scare. Normally, you sit in a pokadot room, that except for the neon spots, or w/e, everything is completely black, the people doing the scaring wear costumes that match the wall, and when your guest least expect it, use loud shakers to scare the crap out of them.

I can honestly say that their haunted barn made me nearly piss my pants in fear of some of the stuff that is inside of it....Going through that barn was one of the scariest moments of my life

holy crap! i have never seen any sort of haunted thing off of the east coast! the one i used to work for has less compact trailers to ride in.. you sit in a circle facing inward and the scary people can climb in them or sneak up behind you... it's pretty good. [:)] then they have a 1/2 mile trail in the woods with haunted stuff in it. people said the trail was the worst thing there!

Hey, i went to a haunted house once, called the asylum, and at the end a scary guy came out with a chainsaw except it was a leaf blower, and chased you out...IMO i think that hospital haunted houses are the scariest things around...i almost pissed my pants when that guy came out....and then you need some creepy things like cobwebs or some sort of mist to get that sticky, and icky affect, and you need to hire some employees with experience, so that youll know people will get a scare, and clowns are a goood thing too, and have voices come out of no where... and i would have some caskets and people have to walk by em, and then a scary, hideous guy jumps out or something of the sort...

wasnt the assylum at sfmm. Also Wanna know what scares the poop out of me the ring tape. You should record the video part and have it playing and then have a girl with long black hair jump out and scare the poop out of the peeps. We did it at out school so many people where running out screaming.

Yup. The scariest thing ever, is the chamber at madame tussauds in london. It is basically just a long dark winding corridor so thin you have to walk through one by one. Theres not many sounds, and no music, thats the point, it makes it scarier. Anyway, you walk down this corridor, and before this part, you have entered this room and have read all these facts about murderers and mental people and what they did to their victims. Anyway, the really scary part is you are walking down this corridor in pretty dim light, but it is not dark, so you can see what is coming slightly. Then people are dressed up in the corners, like murderers with blood all over them, and with scraggly hair, and the costumes are amazing. They are stood, completely stillin the corners, some are dummies, some are actors. Then when they spot someone that looks really scared they suddneluy jump at them, and go to any length to scare them, but without touching them. One chased me down the corridor, and honestly, i nearly crapped myself. The scariest part is the corridor is so thin, you HAVE to walk right next to them, only a few inches away, and you know they are going to jump at you but you just dont know when. And if you get past one safely you are suddenly relieved, but then another jumps at you and you are freaked again. Its the scariest experience i have ever had. They are all specially trained actors, and have the skill to get so close to you you think they are going to touch you. Some even come straight into your face, only millimetres away. If you could pull something like that off, it would be truely astounding. Tussauds have done nearly everything to make it as scary as possible, but i think a bit of smoke, and some cheap special effects would hav efreaked me out even more. because of this experience i will NEVER EVER go into the terror of the towers at alton towers at halloween, i can imagine that that would be even worse.

Trust me, the tussauds ones are actors. [:p] We are talking about THE largest company in the UK in the industry here. Yes they cut a few costs, but they dont get non trained people to do it and then get sued for someone touching a visitor.
