I've started this ride a week ago.
It's based off of Silver Comet at Martin's Fantasy Island.
http://www.rcdb.com/id548.htm

I have finished the layout and I'm currently going through the track working out the small jerks and pumps to make it smooth.

I'll be adding 3Ds using Google SketchUp, so if anyone can export my files as 3Ds, it'll be much appreciated!

This coaster is looking really good. Like the fact you are not using extreme tilting on all the curves. Seems everyone is doing this lately and it really isn't necessary. The tilting of curves to me seems to slow the train down a bit.
Is the release gonna be titled "Silver Comet" or what? Looking foward to riding her.

^ I don't know exactly what it's going to be called.
The name was Hollywood Horror, but, I decided to save that for a different ride.

I uploaded two new pictures.

I've finished lateral bracing, now I just need to touch up a few vertical bracing areas and the track will be done.

I'm planning on making a 3Ds station and some surrounding scenery.

I...love this layout, man! Really I'm diggin' it. If you need any testers in the future or something...

Also, if you want some name suggestions...
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

^I could go for some name suggestions. But I want something simple/classic.

One request ... please theme it and make it look real. Honestly, this ride has MAJOR potential. If the track is done, don't skimp on the 3Ds, theme, etc. It really makes your ride stand out man ... just my opinion.

Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

^I'm not. I need to do the vertical supports over so they look more real and touch up some of the lats.

Also, I need to think of a theme that suits it well. But I'm leaning towards a more generic theme.

Realism is what I'm aiming for in this.

Small Update
I added a tunnel. Just to add a little fun to the ride.[;)]

I was leaning toward the name Carpentine (originated from Carpenter) because to me that just sounds awesome but I also think it sounds a little queer so I thought up a few more...

Baron
Hacksaw
Axelrod
Chariot
1-Millennium Force | 2-Intimidator 305 | 3-Fury 325
4-Skyrush | 5-Iron Rattler | 6-X2 | 7-Kingda Ka
8-Voyage | 9-Maverick | 10-Monster

I started reworking the lateral supports and adding slight adjustments to the lateral bracing. It's going to take me a while to get it all finished, but, it'll be worth it when it's done! [:p]

I don't want a name that's already been used. But I'm thinking something water-based since it's on an island.

^Mist sounds too calm and Typhoons aren't on lakes... sorry!

I need support help...
Currently, I have started making mine look like this:

but... I was wondering if they should look more like this:

Or does it matter?

The diagonal braces you have placed so far look pretty good. Don't do them as often as that S&S woodie.

Its hard to see, but you should actually maybe have X bracing instead of just the one diagonal piece. http://www.rcdb.com/ig270.htm?picture=2

Actually, this pictures show it a lot better: http://www.rcdb.com/ig1659.htm?picture=15

Is this OK? Because in the pictures, they look more rhombic.

Well, I continued on with the checkerboard supports and I've finished all support tweaking (unless someone has suggestions). So I'll be working on 3Ds.

BUT!! I need someone to export my 3Ds for GOOGLE SKETCHUP! Will anyone be willing?

Slash... I forgot about Gerstl's name suggestion "Carpentine" and it made me think of a log mill, so... I might theme it around a log mill since those are usually on the water.

I like the names Boreus, or Zephyrus. They're the gods of the north and west winds. But I guess if you name it either of those, you wouldn't really be able to theme it like a log mill thingy.

Anyway, I love the look of this man! Silver Comet was an awesome ride and I haven't ridden it in a while, so this should be really interesting for me! Can't wait for the release.

Well, I decided I'm not done with the track. I want to make it look as sharp and real as I can, so, I'm going to do a lot of catwalk editing. So... I won't be working on 3Ds.

This pic isn't so great, but, it gives you a general idea of the style I'm doing to the supports.

^LOL. As fun as this ride looks, it looks way too much like SC and I'm afraid your originality score is going to reflect that...atleast it should :P.

Actually, it was going to be a recreation. I had it up on the Dev site as Silver Comet up until I finished finally smoothing and tweaking the ride. But, I have no experience or information to recreate SC, so, I just shook it up a bit and made it my own.

And honestly, I'm not going for originality, nothing in it is original, I just liked the style of SC so I replicated it.
