help please

I cant save screenshots when i take them in the simulator anymore... i will take the picture, and it will say "screenshot saved" however when i look in the screenshots folder nothing is there, then i do a full system search for the pictures i took, and i still find nothing. my girlfriend was messing around with my computer yesterday, and that is when this all started. so she obviously messed something up. (no suprise) any clue how i can fix things? i already tried restoring to yesterday...didn't work. any help would be great! thanks

try redownloading NoLimits, from the website, but you would have to completely delete your old one.

BUT WAIT!.
before you do that make sure you remember your registration Password and Username. I know the username is
FULLNAME/EMAILADDRESS
but if you cant remember your password.. You might want to email the Nolimits team.

What Operating system are you using? If you're using Windows Vista you will have to run the NolimitSimulator.exe with admin rights ( Only do this if you have UAC enabled )

XP,,,and i dont remember my code,,,at all...i'm pretty sure my g/f just moved the screensaver folder to another acount...(not sure why) but she did, so i'll look for that, and if that doesnt work then i'm sure i'll find an easier less complicated way then deleting nolimits.

If you don't remember code it doesn't matter because The Construction Kit will tell you your registration information and you can also retrieve it from the registry at this location :

If she moved the screenshots folder, just make a new folder called "screenshots" and it should work.

well thanks for the help but isnt nolimits supposed to save to the default screenshots folder? if i make another one called "screenshots" it wouldn't matter, but i did learn one good lesson from all this and from many other bad occasions where my computer mysteriously gets f**d up...DONT EVER let your girlfriend use your computer!!!...this isnt the first time she's messed something up hardcore...

well as long as the new fold is called screenshots it should work, Im like 99% sure. But if for some reason it doesnt use what Matt says and reinstall nolimits.

ok i tried making a new folder and taking some screens,,,still nothing...i did a full system search of every single file on this stupid computer and still got nothing...A FILE CANT JUST GO NOWHERE...where the hell do they go??? they just dissapear!!! this is bulls**t i'm bout to punch a whole in my moniter and throw my tower out the window...

Make sure it's searching for hidden folders. This is a major reason why instant search in Vista and Spotlight in OSX is handy.

ya i made sure it searched for hidden folders... still nothing...the screenshots literally just dissapear!!! bwahhh!!! something can't just dissapear like that! somehow the saving format must have got changed...

I think maybe you should break up with your girlfriend if she's moving around your screenshots.

What exactly are you searching for when you're looking for them? Do you have the correct screenshot format? Also, make sure you have the correct privleges to do what you want to do.

woody man, lol maybe, but we've been dating for over 2 years,,,thats not gonna happen. but anyways to answer your question, i type in the search box after making sure it searches everything including hidden files i type in the name of my coaster...it brings up the track files but not the screenshots...so then i type in the word "Screenshots" and it brings up all the screenshot folders,,,there are 2 of them belonging to nolimits...my old 1.5 folder, and the new NL 1.6 folder...however nothing is in the folder. i've tried taking pictures of more than one coaster just to see if it was a corrupted warped file,,,but i come out iwth the same results every time...

I know there is a search setting on my computer where you can specify certain file types to not be included in the search. Any chance you have images turned off?

images are 100% on, just made sure...still got nothing...

well so far all the stuff you guys have said to do isnt working...i'm lost,,,there has to be another way besides redownloading the game... something about the file format got changed...what format does the file have to be in order for the pictures to save directly to that file?

I think I found your problem! You said, "i type in the name of my coaster...it brings up the track files but not the screenshots..." I just saved a screenshot. The file name was, "Rapture-070904180556000.bmp" and so I ran a full search for just, "Rapture". The track file came up but no screenshot. Then I ran a full search for, "Rapture-070904180556000.bmp" and it found it in about 2 minutes and nothing else. So I guess you need the completely random numbers!

thats the problem tho...i go to look at the random #'s...and they arn't there...the file doesnt save...period...it just dissapears...it says "screenshot saves" but really,,,it isnt saved...it just dissapears...

No it is saving but there are random numbers after so it's just super hard to find.

Youd already have been reinstalled (10 times) and up and running perfectly in all the time youve wasted on something thats obviously some weird anomoly.
