Help!

This is going to sound stupid. But I haven't figured out how to place trees around my rides. Can someone plz tell me.

go to scenery, pick a type of tree, and then go to overhead view and start placing!

thats why it wouldn't work I kept trying to do it in 3D. my bad

Side doesn't matter either, but it could go far or close to top view is the best to stick with...
