this is some EXTREMELY entertaining &$*! right here! I had never been to TPR site before so I went to check it out.
HOLY #%$ that guy has a serious stick in the %#!. read the first page of the thread, then the last, for 8 years and 36 pages he is still arguing about something as completely stupid as sneaking a camera on a coaster, WHO F$(%#*@ CARES!
really though its a fun read.

Hello guys,

I`m the next victim of mr Alvey.
Since 2004 I`m using themeparkreview as my local site. I alway love the fact that all topics are updated by users constantly.
But I always thought Rob was a weird nice guy. I tried to love what he said but many times it felt wrong. He bitched a lot against others. Many times I thought "is he really serieus? You cannot say stuff like that even if you`re the moderator. A bit like an evil king that rules and can say whatever he wants.

Yesterday I made a statement about the fact that I wasn`t happy that European park updates were not mentioned in the news section lately. I asked to do something about it please.
He gave me a STFU response and replied with saying things that weren`t right. Ok maybe it was better to send him a PM instead of posting it but what a way to go. When I corrected him on his wrong statements he banned me for 1 month.

After that I send him a message to say that I actually really love his site (I really do and that I have respect for him and his work but that you cannot block each and everyone who has someting slithy negative to mention. That`s childish.) His response was that he can`t stand my kind (the nice guys probably) and that I wasn`t anymore welcome on his site. He did a permanent ban. I never experienced that on any forum I was on in my entire life. I do have a feeling heaven will not have a place for him :). You should always talk things out.

I`m suprised he still has so many followers. Tjees what a bad guy. I mean comon what a way to sort things out. Is this the guy I really looked up to in my 20`s? Yes there is a lot of evil in this world.
But since I`m nolonger active on that horrible place. I`m kinda set free and happy now to understand that otherwise all the upcoming years would be one big lie. He is just in for all the money and loves power and fame. He doesn`t look like the kinda guy that will ever correct himself on his wrong actions.

Coastercrazy looks like a nice place. I`ll update my european park updates to this site instead of themeparkreview. I hope to be a good value to your site.
Peace out.

We don't have Robb here, but we do have an Oscar!

TBH all Robb really focuses updates on are things that happen in Orlando because that's all that affects him.

This is a nice place. Not always as up-to-date as some other websites. But most of the users are at least posting new updates when they see them. :)

Welcome! Sorry to hear of the unfortunate run in with Alvey. We hear a lot of such incidents :( Rest assured we're ok and accept criticism well. We appreciate you bringing the European updates. We'll be sure to tweet/fb them to our members when we see them. Like Dirk said, we're not always up to date but try our best :) Cheers and let us know if you need any help on the site :)

Wow what a warm welcome! You sure can`t find something like this at themeparkreview. Mass luring crowd over there not caring that you are a real life person with feelings. He just wants as much youtube views as possible to gain cash. You even aren`t allowed anymore to post your own POV`s.... His trips are expensive as hell that`s why he can make a living of it.

What a coincident that these incidents keep repeating around one central person and nobody else: Rob. He acts so cool on camera like he knows everything. Acting like he really cares about customer satisfaction in themeparks but he throws around poop to his very own website visitors... he doesn`t care how other people feel.

When he banned someone (almost immediately after a post he doesn`t like, cause he feels like he is not in control about your opinon) he doesn`t think furter that there is a chance that you could be from any importance to him or in contact with "allied" websites. I posted many fresh unique updates about the new Taron ride at Phantasialand and the world`s first POV of Black Mamba back in the days. He simply doens`t care. He is focused on his own tunnel vision. The only right comment is the one he likes all others will feel his wrath. The worst thing is that he makes people hate him when they first absolutely weren`t. He destroys his own respect. What a shame. It could be such a nice place on TPR...

This website almost looks like a magical place compared to TPR. I immideatly notice that people are allowed to talk if they want. (within limitations offcourse) Many people at TPR are afraid to tell there opinion otherwise Rob would interfere.

So ok let`s do this guys. I will be a helping hand for nice European updates. Maybe my Dutch / Flemish / German skills can be from any value to you. I will try my best.
Ow yeah and one thing is for certain. My eyes are surely happy with the coloring on this website. My eyes did hurt everytime I visite TPR. Awefull color combinations but I got used to it. :)

^ That would be phenomenal! :) We do try to be up to date! One thing is for sure though we are very welcoming and won't resort to childish behavior for one having an opinion lol. Welcome! We should change the name of this topic to "The TPR Refugee Topic" lol.

Yes indeed. We turned to the light side! The dark side is strong within Rob. Our sith lord banned us stormtroopers to the wasteland but in the distance I noticed this lovely place. Now I will proceed my life and live it in honor for this site. :)

Haha that`s really strange to hear that. I remember when I was younger we went to Phantasialand during the weekends to chill out after a schoolweek. (I live in Belgium at the border, it`s 1 hour drive to the park). But I was always thinking "boy oh boy all does huge amazing parks in the USA, I hope to go there one day, it will be amazing. Nothing like these tiny rides" We had to travel 300km`s before we could find the first B&M (Silverstar in Germany) or go oversea to the UK for Nemesis, Oblivion or Air. Phantasialand really was a kidspark during that time. The same with Efteling actually.
You were laught at when you said to your cool friends "I`m going to visit Phantasialand or Efteling". Most people went to Walibi or Bobbejaanland where all the "big" coasters (to european norm) where.

But slowly the landscape it changed. Phantasialand started building amazing rides for all ages. Rides that are not only amazing to ride but also amazing to watch, even if your`re scared! (very important for them to give everyone the max experience) Black Mamba was for me the big turning point. A themed masterpiece. I remember me riding Black Mamba the first time. The jr Immelman with it`s waterfall and rock formation. For a second I thought I travelled to one of the wonderfull themeparks in the USA. After riding it I said to my friends "this is even better then the rides in Island of adventure!! (referring to totally themed outside coasters we never had in Europe) It felt like I walked in an total different country with waterfalls and jungle plants.
A big part of the entire park layout has changed compared to 10 years ago. At times it`s like I`m walking in a totally different park then the days I remember from my past. It`s surreal knowing that I was always sitting/relaxing on a bench in the Western area. The same place Taron is now rising. SO much different :).

I love all the big themeparks in the USA actually the most. Who wouldn`t love an Orlando Resort or Top Thrill Dragster next to their door.
But I`m so happy we have Phantasialand and accept it happily to be born here, our very own little themed-bombed paradise. It`s so magical. It`s no Disney but it doesn`t have to be. It`s Phantasialand with it`s own (very) unique style and look:). It`s near perfection. I freaking love that little german park. Sometimes it still gives me the chills. It has a special power within it`s borders.

I prefer a park like Phantasialand over a big thrill park any day! I love parks with charm and especially for Phantasialand, while they might not have a lot everything they do have is amazing. I'd love to go to Germany one day as there are so many amazing parks and coasters there (Phantasialand, Europa Park, Hansa Park etc) I'd love to go to Liseberg too, but Europe is a bit too far and expensive for me :(

Also to note we have a few people in the UK who like to meet up and ride rollercoasters - and hopefully we'll be getting over to Liseberg this year, and definitely Phantasialand in the near future! Glad you find the website colour scheme fairly appealing too :D

Thank you for the invitation. This weekend I can`t because of my job. It would be lovely to stand their in front of Taron tomorow. Pure magic, even during construction :).
Maybe we`ll meet up with Paradox in the very near future ;). When Taron opens I`ll definitely be there quickly.

^ I assume that Robb changed too much after getting known to the famous social media. He even seems to be (a little bit) cockier than before. Well, I don't want to say like this, though, because in fact, I still can pay respect to his global park visits. I remember that he was a fanatic with a juvenile's heart all about theme parks not only coasters falling into the category of "big thrills". I still miss the classic TPR - 10 years ago, there were obviously more topics for discussion than today. The board looks way too simple now. I wonder if he sounds too professional there by having "harsh" visions that keep barely-active-users from posting news. To be honest, I used to have plenty of fun with his humorous (Heavily related to a variety of Japanese fun video games and wacky stuff that one of our members "Cool5" likes.) and sometimes whimsical contents when I still was an avid TPR goer. Not that he is completely mean or narrow-minded, but he may be kind of losing interests in making stuff "playful".

Oh I have to say sorry for writing such complaints. Based on my experience! :(

Okay now let's be positive! Welcome to this forum and have wonderful days here! :)

Knowing Paradox, it'll take a few years before he actually comes over. But there are definitely ideas of having a small meetup with some of the UK gang at Phantasialand!
Then again, I'll probably be there on opening day as well
