So yeah, I had the appointment with the financial officer at the hospital today. My grand total for the surgery came to $19,100, I think $19,107 I forget exactly. Anyway, yeah, that much money and I can still barely walk. USA charges too much, anyway I asked him to let me slide, with like medical or something and he said I don't qualify for it. I told him I was low income and all, and he still negated me for free health care. oh well I tried. I asked what if I was an illegal immigrant, he said then I'd qualify. Had I known if I could lie my way through it, I would have done so. No wonder the first thing he asked me was for my social security card. I should have said "no tengo" and be done with it but nope I am in the hole now. [:(] American health care system sucks! Anyway, just wanted to vent.

So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.

You're a goddamned nimrod asaaa.

Sorry it's that steep man. Health insurance or are you just screwed? Look at it as an early mid life crisis gift.

nope, but I would have ended up handicapped. I would have lost movement of my legs and of my piss and bowel movements as well. It was pressing the nerve and eventually was going to cut it and thus lose control of half my body. So yeah, it was quite necessary to have it [:(] The pain was incredible that I was going through. Right now I still have some, bu nowhere near what I was going through.

not directly like I stated but after it was over it was clear that it was like so since there's no way for them to actually ruin their lives by ataching the bill to their credit history if one doesn't pay and stuff. /me deports myself

Hmm...I can think of a few ways to have fun at his expense.

Ive got something like 11G in debt Im working my butt off to pay off Oscar. I feel your pain there, but physically, while I hurt continually from UPS, I am empathetic to your condition.

I agree - life in the US for some right now isnt easy. Still a better place to live than some other places, and probably not as good as others but its not the worst place I could be.

Heck, I COULD be in Cali where its slightly cooler than the surface of the sun and for me thats a virtual hell.

well since your injury is a result of working at the liquor market... shouldn't they're insurance be covering you? I think you need to look into that and consider highering a lawyer.

You should rant about this ...

Anyway, what was the outcome? They gonna work out a payment plan or something for you to take care of it? Make sure you spend time consulting a financial counselor, outside of the hospital on how to pay. There are some decent ones out there and you may be able to find some cheap/free. Just ensure that you know your options prior to signing away on this one -- did they give any indication as to trying to help you out? How about your bills in T.J.?

^Honestly, I would never pay someone to 'counsel' me out of debt. The best thing WWS can do (maybe already done this..) is to set up at monthly payment. When you are already in major debt, why would you send your money to another source further increasing your debt?

This really sucks wws. I know how you feel though, sort of. I think you know, but last October/November my daughter broke her leg and unfortunately we didn't have insurance at the time. We now have about $7500 of medical debt. We currently pay $45 a month towards the debt.

Your debt is much greater though, so I can only assume your monthly payments would be much higher. You might consider contacting a bankruptcy lawyer if all your financial resources are completely drained...

I second this suggestion.

such has been done but due to the chiropractic medical recport and the other orthopedic medcal report, they both state this had been a long standing condition that was only getting worse with time and thus after talking with two separete injury lawyers, the doctor's claims would be put forth to the judge and the case would dismissed since it can't really be proven that I injured myself at the liquor store despite the fact of the heavy ifting incurred there.

[lol] if I don't pay, there blows my credit history which in LA, or probably he whole USA, is something you don't want messed with. I did not show up Saturday, I wasn't able to do so anyway. Sooo I am going to call today and see what's up. Imma start selling the staff members as meat and see how that works out. Though you might not sell so good, that thong picture removed all curiosity thoughts. Most like fresh meat so woodie man should sellpretty well [lol]
