I can't vouch for the Dutch, since they seemed to be as "lively" as anywhere else. The South Africans, though (speaking of the Afrikaaners, not the Zulus) are very reserved and quiet. In fact, a friend of mine from Pretoria refused to ride the coasters at Gold Reef City with me. His excuse: "I rode it once and I screamed in front of total strangers. That is unacceptable. Never again."
The Tower of Terror was fun to watch. As the car slowly made its way over the edge of the vertical drop, the cars were silent. A single GASP was all you heard when it finally dropped. Maybe a yelp. Put that same ride in the US, and people would be like OMG OMG OMG all the way over the edge...
Anaconda, for some reason, sounded like a normal coaster full of screamers. Maybe the privacy afforded by the OTSRs allowed folks to let their guards down...
Yeah, I know. That's all very stereotypical. It's what I saw, though.
I will say this: the "quiet at all costs" syndrome was mostly present during my first trip there in 1999. When I went back 2 yrs ago, I didn't notice it at all. Folks change, I guess.
Now, the Zulus and Xhosas? Those folks can PARTY. They yell and scream louder than us yanks.
My body isn't a temple. It's an amusement park.
