if we didnt have religions the Catholics wouldnt be fighting Protostants. Hilter wouldnt have killed all those jews, and there would be peace in the middle east (probaly)

You have to realize that religions were formed a very long time ago. People didnt have the science and technology that we do today. Religion gave an explination of things and instilled morals in humans to prevent total chaos. Unfortunantly, there are people in the world who dont believe in working together toward the common good, therefore if religion didnt exist chaos would reign. Religion, in a way, gives people a reason to live, i mean what other reason is there? You're born, try to get rich, then you die. It would seem as though no point to life, right? Well religion gives people somthing to believe in and hope for, thus the belief in life after death and the difference between heaven and hell, or reincarnation. In nature, the rule of life is eat or be eaten and in nature do you find animals worshiping gods? Most animals live in fear of other animals and must find someway to survive. Imaging if it was that way with people, we would all be killing eachother just to stay on top. Yes, people can live in harmoney, but there will always be one who will think differently and will gather others and convince them to think the same way, be it ideas of superiority or whatever. The point is, racism will continue on until EVERYONE realizes we are all equal, but 100% of the population believing in the same ideas will never happen.
Now, gouldy, religion doesnt cause hate, it is the people who take religion and manipulate it to send out a message that they control.
With or without religion, hate will exist and there isn't anything that anyone can really do about it.
