Hurricane Ivan is on its way, I may have to evacuate depending on how strong it will be when it hits. If it hits with winds of 130+ than i can have no power for at least 3 weeks. I live in Pensacola FL and Ivan seems to hitting somewhere around here. I will probly evacuate to Tallahasse, mabye Jacksonville If we have to. Ivan the Terrible is coming, I must prepare!

Yeah, WEll, they expect it to weaken before it makes lanfall, but it will prob. be at least a cat. 3. It sucks for me that i may have to evacuate and no electricity for at least 3 weeks. This is number 3 and the srongest of them all. My area around Pensacola hasnt had a hurricane in about 10 years since Erin(which hit my city dead on) and Opal (Which my city got the edge of it but still cat. 1 force winds.) It suck having 3 hurricanes hit your state. But Ivan will most definately be affecting my area. If its a cat. 3 then GA. will get it as it moves up possibly. If its a Cat. 5, My city is screwed. Watch the Weather Channel, you just might see Pensacola Beach, Which is a really nice beach. I might go down there and try to be on the weatherchannel, so look for someone wearing a black shirt and blue jeans wearing glasses and brown hair when they show P'Cola beach. If I go down there.

I am in Montgomery, Alabama, and we have been getting it all day now. Winds over 60 mph, but they are manageable. Driving (straight line) rains as well. Right now the worst seems to be passed us, but the worry now is excessive flooding that is going to occur throughout the day/weekend.

Again, nothing really major right now. Once I can get out a bit I am sure there will be some better pics of some of the damage that happened here on base and around the city. Here is just one pic from about 10 am this morning. Notice the water beginning to build on the lawn in the bottom of the picture.

Ivan cased my classes to be cancelled for the rest of tonight and tomorrow, so I'm happy. (I'm in Macon, GA by the way...)
