Hey, my new woody is now nearly totally finished and will be up on the site soon. To view screenies visit:
http://nldc.interfix.net/p214

I cant wait till i actually upload the ride, people will hopefully like it (fingers crossed). It features a first drop (coonsisting of two drops and a large spot of airtime) totalling 225 foot in height! How do you get all the ride statistics?

The ride never actually comes more than 30 foot over the terrain. I kept this as a rule, so that when i came to add the trees hardly anything is that visible from outside. It also makes it more exciting while riding the ride as you dont know what is going to happen next until you are there. The coaster was made just for its high speeds through the deep forest and down through hills, and over a lake. It also includes some airtime moments, no that many though, as staying low to the ground didnt allow it that much.

Hope you like the look of the ride.
Tell me what you think, in this thread
JPECOOL

P.S - There are no 3ds in this version but if it scores okay i will create 3ds for the track and upload that version. Althought there is a cartexture.

im glad you think so.......... BTW, that is only a very small part of the ride. It actually stretches out for about 6500 foot.
The estimated stats would make it:
- the 3rd longest wooden roller coaster in the world.
- the 2nd fastest wooden roller coaster in the world at 76mph
- the largest drop on a wooden coaster in the world (if you count it as one drop, which i do, but others may not)

I just need to add alot of lateral bracing to the ride now!!! It does a large turn over the lake at 76 mph, so it definately needs some bracing there!

I like the landscaping and I'm glad that you paid attention to it. Most don't even add terrain.

The terrain took me quite a while to get right! About 3 days! And i added every tree myself to make sure there are no tree hits.

Okay peeps, 4 new pictures of the ride have been added to:
http://nldc.interfix.net/p214

The first new one shows some steel lateral bracing on the turn over the lake, after the first drop.
The second new one shows the first half of the first drop, including bunny hop, and spot of airtime
The third new one shows a picture from halfway down the first drop!
The last new one shows the cartexture, including a poem on the side of the car!

Can someone please tell me if i would need more lateral bracing on that turn after the first drop. The car is travelling at 76mph around it!

Your supports on the highly-banked turn over the lake look very cool. They also look like they would easily keep the track rigid. I think a big 3ds fountain or statue would look really cool right in the center of that turn.

good point the fountain would look good. I may include it on the 3ds version, although i will not on the first one as it does not fit with the story. I am making 2 versions though so that will probably be included if i can do it. I dont have much experience with 3ds.

Thanks for the idea, and im glad you liked the supports! I still have a 68mph 1 1/2 rotations helix to do though!!!!!!!! lol. Oh and also a figure of eight near the end! It is taking a long long time! lol. Does anyone know how to make environments???

More pictures have now been added at http://nldc.interfix.net/p214

It now includes:
- All custom trackwork
- some auto supports and some custom supports
- All hand made terrain
- All hand placed trees
- Shadow rider Cartexture
- Shadow rider promo video (2mins long aprox [this will nto be included with the track, it will be released a couple of days before the track itself)
- Shadow rider custoim environment! (this will be my first ever environment and it can be seen in the last picture on that page i linked to!)

It has taken quite a bit of work, and should be released in just over 14 days at max! It would be uploaded before, but i do not have broadband yet, so cannot get everything up!

Well -- holler if you want some eyes to view it prior to posting man. I'd be glad to help ... you got the addy. :-)

However, this appears to be some EXCELLENT custom supporting: http://nldc.interfix.net/i1512
Hopefully it is wood supports and not steel (for realism). ;-)

No, all custom LATERAL BRACING (thats not all the custom work on that section, there si the odd other bit around) in that section is steel beams as the ride is going at 70mph around that helix, and i thought steel woudl be stronger! I woudl ahve sent it if you had asked earlier, but now ive totally finished the ride, so you will just have to wait till release date! [lol] I will try and send you the video (do you have windows media player?) although im not sure my internet will be able to get it to you as it is a very large file!
