wicked airtime though! And the launch was kinda short.
Gimme a good coaster and nobody gets hurt.

I didn't feel any airtime on it, and I didn't even feel the launch. Volcano's felt much stronger to me (as did Maverick's).

^ To you, a launch from a rolling start to 70mph in more than 2 seconds felt more powerful than a 0 - 80 mph launch in 1.8 seconds? Is there something physically wrong with your body?

^^ I'm gonna have to call BS on that. The launch is about the only thing that could be felt on this thing, and it was a painful feeling at that. I will agree with you on your other point that it sucked, because it very much did. My first response when hitting the brake run on this was "I stood in line all that time for this?". Actually, that was my second response... my first response was "OWWW!!".

I personally LOVED that ride and it was very smooth in my opinion. That launch was the most powerfull thing i have ever felt. It was one of the few launches that felt like my lungs were being ripped out. In fact, the only other one was TTD. KK did nothing for me. And the launch is faster some times than others. Some times it flies over the first hill, some times it creeps over. I personally had superman quality air on that coaster.

I honestly didn't feel the launch.....it just kinda went, and not in a "don't know what happened" kind of way...but more like a "uh ok, now we're up the tower?". I've spoken to other people who say they didn't feel it on their first ride either. I know what the numbers say but I honestly just didn't feel it. The brakes however were most certainly felt (and felt like a carcrash at that).

Some pieces are still in the park in case some people didn't know.

The thing about launches is the first one of the day you feel, then you don't the rest. Its kinda odd. I would know because pkd used to b my home park and i rode launched coasters mostly when i went there.

XLC was my first ride of the day there (and first launch ever). Needless to say after all I had heard about how intense it was and then riding it I was definitely put off by launches that day until I made it over to Volcano.

I still don't think very highly of launches.....Volcano's and Maverick's are the only ones I genuinely like for the intensity. The Schwarzkoph shuttle loops are fun too but they aren't intense at all.

how many G's did hypersonic's launch hit? and we all assume here that the ride was well not worth the wait in line.

Well it had to hit at least 2 g's because the average acceleration was 65.18 feet per second. 1g is 32.2 feet per second so do that math, and it had to be at least 2.02g's. Thats more powerful than TTD or maverick.

It was indeed 2.02 if I remember correctly. It certainly didn't feel like it though. I don't really know how to explain it.....You just kinda went but didn't feel the force of the train accelerating forward. At least that's how I remember it.

It might just be so quick that your mind doesn't really have time to register whats happening to you before its already over?
