alright, ill give you the lowdown on the braces, just like haydawg did.
Getting spacers is somewhat painful, but nothing too major. Your teeth will feel a little sore and its going to feel like a piece of food is stuck between your teeth for about 1 to 2 weeks depending on how quickly your teeth will move. Then, back to the dentist, the spacers come out and then the fun begins.
First tip: DO NOT SWALLOW EVER. The glue that is going on your teeth tastes soooooo bitter and disgusting. Getting the braces on is a bit of a pain. Your going to have to sit there for about an hour and let them do all the work, then the wires go in, and you go out. First day, your teeth will feel fine, not too sore or anything, but your lips will feel all puffed up because of the extra stuff on your teeth. Day two is the bad one. Your going to wake up in pain. Not sore, but in pain. I hate to break it to you, but its true. Get some strong pain killers, advil will not do the trick. Your going to want vicadin (thats what i took), and it helps. O MY GOD it helps. Like haydawg said, wear the wax on the painful areas. Your lips will get cut up and sore, and it will hurt.
Now, when you get your braces adjusted, wires changed out, your teeth are going to feel, again, sore. The first time will be sore, after that it will feel better and better. Just get through the first 2 weeks I would say and your home free. You can almost tell how much the teeth are going to hurt by listening to what wire they are going to put in. My doc does that, and he says something like lets move that 16 up to an 18, which would be sore because thats 2 wires tighter.
Now, I havent gotten my braces off yet, but I know the feeling after. First, when you get your wires out, your teeth are going to feel loose and wobbly until the wire is put back in. The wire feels normal, as where your normal teeth don't anymore.
Braces coming off is probably the weirdest feeling... ever. Your teeth are all slimy, gooey, not metally, and blahdy blah. It's just like getting braces all over again, except without the braces.
Know, I wrote all of this because I was a nervous wreck about getting my braces, and I can tell that you must be nervous as well. Just keep thinking to yourself though, these will come off soon, and I will have beautiful teeth. I'm almost done, I think there coming off in september! WOOO!
P.S: When your making the molds, breath through your nose. Trust me when I say that.
So, my friend came up to me the other day and asked if I wanted a frozen banana, and I said no, but I want a normal banana later, so... yea.
