I was at Six Flags Great Adventure on a field trip about a month ago, when I conquered Kingda Ka! There's actually a story behind this, so enjoy!

That day, we were leaving the park at 5:00, and we had to be at the buses by 4:45. It was 4:00, and me and my friends entered the Golden Kingdom area of the park. We were looking for the line enterance, and to our surprise, it was actually a giant winding path around the area. I guess Six Flags was anticipating long lines. So me and my frineds got in line- wait, scratch that. There was no line! I couldn't believe it! We waited for the 4th row, because it had the shortest line. To trains went through the ride, then suddenly, the ride broke down! We waited until 4:20, when my friends gave up on the ride and left. I stayed, alone, and waited. Finally at around 4:30, they began testing. They started letting people on at 4:40. The ride wasn't going to take more than 5 minutes, right? I got on, and we waited. They had to prepare the ride or something, then it happened. We were launched at blistering speeds of 128 MPH. I could swear that the skin on my face was flapping back. Suddenly, we were going up. In no time at all, we were there, over 400 feet in the sky. Before I could take a breath, we were shooting straight down. I could sworn I saw coins flying out of the pockets of people in front of me. We speedily arched back up into the amazing airtime hill after the drop, and then started to smoothly slow down, thanks to the magnetic brake system. After I got off, I looked at my watch: 4:45! I ran as fast as I could (which wasn't very fast [:p]) through the park. It was actually a very long distance from Kingda Ka to the enterance. When I did evantually get to the parking lot to wait for my bus, I found my friends just sitting around. We waited until 5:00, the time when we were supposed to leave, and our buses finally arrived. I ran all of that for nothing! [}:)] I loved the ride though.[:D] Who else has ridden Kingda Ka?

Me and my friend last summer went on Kingda Ka twice in under 40 minutes when people were waiting 2-3 hours (thanks to gold fast lane). The ride was unbelievable. The launch is incredible and very forceful, which lasts 3 seconds long, and before we knew it we were 456 feet in the air. On the way down the vertical spike everyone on the train was screaming, and until we hit the brakes, we finally caught our breath. Before we rode again, a person told us that you can see Philidelphia and NYC from the top on a clear day, and that day there wasn't a cloud in the sky, so once we rode again and arrived at the top of the hill, me and my friend looked slightly to our right and saw the top of the Empire State Building, and we also looked quickly to our left and saw Philly. It was one of the most forceful and fun coasters I have ever been on.

The second time we went that summer, me and my friend waited on line for Kingda Ka, and once we both were at the station waiting behind the automatic metal gates, the ride broke down, and they pulled back the people in the train on the launch section. Then they closed the ride for the rest of the day. We were so pissed...

But other than that, very fun ride.

haha. never been on it. but i've been on TTD and that was quite the experience, all 20 seconds of it. it felt so weird climbing that 420 foto tower and getting a quick view of what seemed like the entire earth. i only wished we had gotten on a train that rolled back. i heard that's amazing.

Amazing airtime hill???
Im sure there will be no airtime at all on that im afraid, the turning radius it too large.
And loses so much sense of speed up in the air, another point for TTD[:)].

And they only let you in the park for 1 hour? or was it just 4 o clock when you headed to Kingda Ka?
