Idiot's guide to the Auto Heartline Generator

So yeah, I'm either an idiot (most likely) or I'm just not a physics expert, and I have no idea how to use the AHG or that Newton 2 thing I keep hearing about, which I suppose would help me make better coasters. Anyone care to shed some light on how to work these programs? Thanks.
