I doubt many of you know about the Touhou series of games... but I am a huge fan of them. So in order to share my love of the game, I decided to make a rollercoaster based upon my favorite in the series, Imperishable Night.

Here's a video of gameplay:

(note the replay is in fastforward except during the boss)


Now the game is based on "bullet hell" a.k.a. sh*t ton of bullets bombarded at you all at once, so in order to incorporate that claustrophobic feeling, this ride is going to be compact to the max with as many twists, turns, and inversions I can shove in to the confined space I set up for myself. And then I'm going to feel it with headchoppers to reflect the hundreds upon hundreds of bullets which fly by your head every second.

Oh, and it will be a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter.

Pics will be up later... since the layout is going to change a lot before I'm satisfied.

wow holy cr*p that game looks freaking impossible, if you are gonna pull this ride off this is gonna take a lotta work.

it looks much harder than it actually is [;)]

but i've got the layout mapped in my head, just executing it nicely is going to be excessively difficult.

quick update...

i'm jumping between to majorly different design styles right now: Gerstlwhateverthehell and a much larger design. both are compact and crazy...

maybe i'll just make them both [:P]

very rough structure of the layout. i need to tighten that roll up a lot more in order to fit the sequence i want in next (an inclined loop).

i don't want it to wrap around the lift like that... but the g's are preventing me from not doing so :

OH.. and each car will be themed off one of the characters in the game. the one in the picture will be based off the most used and famous character, Reimu.

I managed to tighten the pretzel loop so that it does not exceed past the first drop.. but it came with the cost of reworking the proceeding valley due to high G's.

Also, the area right after the dive loop needs to be widened slightly in order to pass the tunnel test.

Update
In the game there's a last word moment at the end of the boss if you don't get hit, don't use a bomb, and get the allotted amount of "time points".

So in order to infuse this with the ride, I'm going to do an extra special crazy element. [:p]
