Okay I've been messin around with NoLimits for a while now but Im still a noob and I have a problem. I CANNOT for the life of me figure out how to judge how much I should bank a turn. I try everything but the turn always ends up having red g's or the turn is very sloppy making the track not flow. I hope I was clear enough for you...your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

The coaster calculator can calculate the correct banking. The web version can be found here: http://www.nolimitsdevcenter.net/calculator

A sloppy turn can be fixed by practice, or if you make one in elementary, which can be found here: http://www.gravimetricstudios.com/softw ... /index.cfm

Hope this helps!

the faster the train is going on the entry of the turn, the more banking is required, elementary helps yes, however doing it by hand is just as easy with practice.

I gues I do need more practice. It just seemed silly that I could make vertical loops but I couldnt make a simple turn.[sillyme]

Strangely enough, I never had a big problem with banking when building by hand. I just think back to coasters that I've ridden or pictures I've seen.

One thing in my opinion though is that turns shouldn?????????t be banked too much but rather too little to create some lateral forces to the outside of the turn, somewhere in between 0.2 and 0.8G?????????s, so that it gives that major speed feeling. When building a 90deg bank, think Voyage, otherwise you?????????ll always get some lateral force to the ground.

You should take note that this would *only* apply for certain types of woodies. Then, and only then, you may even have higher lats. But sorry to say, creating any modern steel coaster that way is just utter failure.

I hate to say this, but honestly your best off creating some solid hand made tracks before diving into tools. I think it's imperative to understand how the editor works and how shaping should be. After you get some decent tracks hand made after a few months (everyone learns at a different pace), then attempt using tools. That's just my two cents of course.

Tools not make a bad track good, but improves the track, The better you Hand build the better the outcome of the track when using tools.
