Now I know that you can't do this with the Inverted Impulse Coaster in No Limits, but wouldn't tires be a low tech solution to this problem? There'd be a bit of potential for skidding, but tires contacting a flat plate on the bottom of the train would allow you to add energy to the train in both a twisted and straight position. You'd be going through a ton of tires, and have to use some strong motors, but I think it'd work and be a lot cheaper to develop.

^ ok, tires can propel the ride, but what about slowing down? that would tear the poop out of the tires

Not necessarily. What about a Zamperla Galleon, or Huss Frisbee, they use tires to speed up and slow down the ride. You can't just lock the tires and let it skid to a stop, it has to be like an anti-lock braking system. The wheels would be moving when the train gets to them, and then the motors would slow down as it passed over.

With the station brake as the rides main/emergency brake. It is a shuttle coaster, yes?
